4 Casual Outfits I’ve Been Loving this Summer

I started off this week by sharing some smart casual looks and today I wanted to share a few outfits I’ve been worn over recent weekends that are comfortable and practical with the kids.

1. Black Dress + Sneakers
This style of Veja sneaker (available here + here) was out of stock for a while but is finally back starting in 35 (my size, fits like a US 5). Some have found these to be a little difficult to break in, but I’ve discovered a few tips that make these comfy enough for a full days outing with the kids. You can find my tips to prevent ankle rubbing in this post and check out my IG highlight for some tips on the Veja tongue. I’ve also heard great things about the Campo style from friends who have mentioned that they’re comfortable and didn’t need breaking in.
I’ve been reaching for this breezy black dress often since I first shared it earlier this summer. I love that it can be dressed down with sneakers or flat sandals, is comfortable in the summer heat, hides all stains from messy kids, I can go bra-less in it thanks to the dark smocked bodice, and it has pockets for my phone.

2. Linen Pants + Sneakers
I’ve been loving these linen pants as they keep me cool in the heat and are especially comfy with the stretch elastic waist. The petite sizing is nearly sold out, but has been great for wearing with flats or can be dressed up with heeled sandals.
3. Denim Shorts + Oversized Sweatshirt

This is such a cute vintage style sweatshirt (also in a cropped style). I opted to go up one size from my usual xxs to have a slightly more slouchy fit, which I love paired with denim shorts. The nautical design of the sweatshirt is perfect for summer and they have a navy and gray version too. My Freedom Moses sandals have been great for a quick slip on that I can get wet or dirty and just rinse clean. I had gotten a size too big so they fit wide but this hack has really helped with the fit.

4. Two Piece Linen Set
This two-piece linen set (my review) has been such a fun pop of color for summer. I added my Neiwai bra (code Jean20 for 20% off) underneath for more coverage, but my lululemon Align tank would work well too (and so comfy for lounging at home!)
