While I’ve been embracing all the color lately, sometimes there is nothing more chic than a crisp black or white piece. I’ve had a handful of notable B&W finds this season from Nordstrom including very petite-friendly straight white jeans (see more below) and this darling little black dress. They’re also currently running their Half Yearly Sale with up to 60% off select items – I would highly recommend these Sam Edelman flat sandals I’ve been living in that are on sale in tons of colors including black and ivory!
1. Little Black Dress (bump friendly)
Earlier this spring I shared a floral dress (now 40% off!) from En Saison, which was my first time trying the brand. This black A-line dress is 100% cotton and one of the more petite-friendly pieces I’ve tried from the same brand. See how I’ve styled it dressed up (above) or down (below)!
It features a smocked bodice, pockets (yay!), and a higher waistline and flared A line skirt that make this dress bump friendly. The flutter sleeves and bow tie back add a feminine touch and I love that it can be paired with flats or wedges and a sunhat for casual wear, or dressed up with heels.
2. Straight White Jeans (petite friendly)
The blue version of these jeans (see on me) have been a reader favorite for over two years straight now, so I was very happy to see a white version come out in both regular and petite. It’s a sturdy weight denim – not at all see through- and the petite sizing is cropped on me (5 ft tall) without any hem cutting needed. The high rise waist nips in with no gap and is very figure flattering, especially paired with a slimming black shirt like this Free People top.
Topshop petite lengths run short in my opinion, so I sometimes opt for regular length and cut the hems shorter myself, if needed. I typically only recommend their Petite denim for those under 5’1″ unless you want pretty cropped jeans. I also go one size up at the waist from other brands. My size 25 x 28 length pair of these white jeans measures 23″ at the inseam with a 9.75″ rise.
3. Feminine White Blouse
This ASTR top has Reformation-inspired vibes and looks perfectly chic paired with blue jeans or shorts. It’s smocked so stretches to fit, and because the fabric is lightweight, the sleeves puff softly and do not look too voluminous or exaggerated.
Not black or white but I finally picked these up after debating over them for what feels like years now! The fit of these are a little looser at the waist and throughout than my Levi 501 cut shorts in the same size 24, and the signature Parker cut has a more A-line flared cut in the legs that Agolde fans love.
Thank you to Nordstrom for partnering on this post.
