The Best Labor Day Sales

nursing breastfeeding friendly petite outfits baby fashion

Express classic trench coat (petite & regular), utility shirt dress (nursing friendly), H&M baby

This post is a little late (several deals are ending tonight), but I wanted to quickly round up the best Labor Day sales and also note items that are nursing friendly!

Express

The deal: 40% off everything (no code needed). Ends 9/4 3AM ET.

  • Classic trench coat – I haven’t this new arrival on, but my Express trench coat from last year is one of my most worn jackets. Their petite jackets usually fit true to size (small sizes sell quickly), and this comes in 3 colors in regular sizing (xxs and up).
  • Utility shirt dress – just ordered! The button-down top looks nursing friendly, and I like the adjustable waist.
  • Ruffle fit & flare dress – this dress from my blog post is back in both black and white! Note sizing for it has been updated from numerical (0, 2, etc) to letter (xxs, xs). I’m wearing regular in my blog post but petite sizing is now fully in stock.
  • Denim available in size 00 short and up (their “high waisted ankle legging” jeans cut is very flattering)

Old Express trench coat in XSP (updated version looks a touch longer, which is great)
H&M

The deal: 30% off $200+ with 3170; 20% off $100+ with 3169; 10% off $50+ with 3168 + free shipping, ends 9/3. They just changed their sizing so a sz 0 should fit like their previous sz 2 (FYI this runs smaller than US brands and usually fits like a 00)!

  • Fall jackets – Camel peacoat (petites may need to hem the sleeves) and this cute twill biker jacket
  • Petite skinny jeans – petites are online exclusive for H&M. 0P fits like a 24P / 00P in other brands.
  • Maternity & nursing items – affordable nursing tanks, nursing bras, and maternity leggings.
  • Baby – Cutest baby stuff with great basics. As a 7 pounder, Nori fit their 0 to 1 month or 1 to 2 month clothes pretty well (while “0 to 3 month” clothes from other brands were pretty big). Loved these kimono style snap onesies (easier to put on than pullover style), cardigans, and little leggings.
UNIQLO

The deal: Labor Day item deals + free shipping on all orders.

  • Pleated midi skirt (re-stocked in 3 colors). See an older color on me here & here.
  • Pants & jeans with free online hemming for items over $20. Just check the “Alterations” box after selecting your size and color and measure the inseam length that you need!
  • Maternity: ankle pants for work and soft maternity undies. Even though these undies are not as low (for wearing completely under the bump) as the ones I like from Amazon, they are a lot softer and hold their elasticity better as you “grow.”
Ann Taylor

The deal: 40% off full-priced styles, extra 60% off sale w/ code LONGWEEKEND. Ends 09/04 at 3AM ET.

  • Machine-washable drapey blouses – a work & casual wear staple that’s nursing friendly. This cheetah-print blouse would be sharp with a classic black pencil skirt or skinny jeans, and this essential button-down blouse has good reviews and comes in a beautiful emerald color.
  • Floral lace pencil skirt – only $16! (from $109) and available in 00 petite and up.
  • Suede block heel pumps – only $24 (from $128) and available in 5 and 5.5. FYI these are final sale.
  • Blue floral lace dress – under $60. See on my mom in 0P (runs a little big).
Sephora

The deal: Rouge 20% off with YESROUGE; VIB 15% off with YESVIB; Insider 10% off with YESINSIDER, ends 9/3. Sign up for free here to be an “Insider” and get the 10% off.

I’ve gotten a lot of questions from ladies (especially expectant moms) interested in “clean” beauty. Sephora has a little green badge on products that are formulated without certain chemicals / harsh ingredients and have less than one percent of synthetic fragrances. Here’s some of my picks from their designed clean beauty selection:
All Tatcha skincare products – I splurged on this face oil to replace my nightly skincare routine as a sleep-deprived new parent hard pressed for time (all I packed for the hospital was this, concealer, and mascara).
Kopari coconut lip treatment and coconut melt (use as moisturizer, cleanser, hair mask, etc)
Biossance squalane oil (read my review)
Farmacy green clean makeup remover balm (read my review)

J.Crew

The deal: 40% off select full-priced and sale styles + extra 50% off final sale items with BIGSALE, ends on 9/3.

J.Crew factory

The deal: 60% off (prices as marked) + extra 50% off clearance with SALEAWAY, ends on 9/3.

LOFT

The deal: 40% off full-priced styles + extra 50% off all sale styles with code LABORDAY.

Express is one of my favorite places to shop! They have great pieces and online their petite shop is for sure a goldmine especially for business pieces!

Great looking Trench coat. It has a nice look on the Petite frame the length is easy to wear and very feminine. The dress looks good too. Baby clothes are adorable.

Love your blog, as a fellow petite woman who wants to look adult in my clothes! Question that’s not related to this post, but I can’t figure out where to just email/comment you. I’m in the market for a new, flattering, warm, winter coat. I am debating about the Ted Baker Kikke one you posted about last year. I live in Denver now, but travel back to the east coast (I’m from Western MA ) during the holidays, so I’m worried about being cold. Curious how you feel about the wool one vs. the cashmere blend, and if they are warm enough for you. Many many thanks, Rachael

For maternity underwear, I just continued wearing Hanky Panky thongs. They stretched nicely all through my pregnancy and sit low under the bump.

For reference, I’m about Jean’s size at 5’1”, 96 pounds.
