Hello from Nantucket! After a harrowing drive through a tornado warning that came out of the blue (of course Nori slept through it all while her parents had a mini meltdown), we made it to this beautiful island where summer is very much in full bloom. I’m partnering with Everlane again today to share a few pieces that have been closet staples as well as a new arrival this month!
Box Cut Tee
Fit: TTS
One of my all time favorite tee styles. Love the slightly cropped, shrunken fit cut on this which looks great with a half tuck into high rise jeans or a skirt. See it in my styling video for this post and also in this post. Runs true to size, and someone my size should stick with an XXS for its intended fit. I had sized up on this color thinking it would shrink, but no shrinkage has occurred so I much prefer the one that I have in XXS.
Denim Skirt
Fit: sized down for high-waisted fit
A great staple white denim skirt that starts in sz 23 and is not too short in length. I’m usually a size 24 and tried both – my usual size fit lower rise towards my hips whereas I like how the 23 sat higher and more snugly at my natural waist. Sizing down for me also works better with cropped and shrunken fit tops without revealing any belly. This skirt also did not shrink in the washer & dryer for me, unlike some of their denim (such as my beloved ankle skinny jeans which shrank half a size.
Lightweight French Terry Sweatshirt
Fit: TTS
An Everlane customer favorite that comes in 7 colors! This lightweight, comfy, 100% cotton top is like a cross between heavier sweater and a long sleeve tee, making it a great layering piece even in summer weather. Fit of an XXS is relaxed but not too loose nor long on me.
Day Tote Mini
New in this month, and the smallest of their Day Tote collection! I’ve gotten a lot of questions about Everlane Day Tote bags but have not tried the bigger ones myself. Based on the measurements, I think the original one would be a little big on someone my size, while the square tote should be more petite friendly. The mini features an adjustable and removable strap so you can wear it as a shoulder bag, a crossbody, or a handheld bag. Note the bag is unlined and there is no closure at the top, so I need to keep my smaller belongings in a large zippered pouch inside.
