Casual coordinates // waffle tee + linen shorts

the colony hotel review pink casual summer outfits

If you love the look of rompers but not the inconvenience, an alternative I’ve been loving is coordinated separates! I don’t usually rave about tee shirts, but this textured one is so good, you may want it in multiple colors. It has a figure skimming cut (not too boxy or long) with a waffle knit texture and small cuffs at the sleeves. I got my usual size, but in hindsight wish I sized up for a more slouchy fit and to account for shrinkage if I were to machine dry it!

These linen blend shorts are another warm weather staple, with pockets, side vent slits, and a drawstring waist. I was mostly drawn to these by the soft color options, and was happy with the fit. A+F has really impressed me lately with their petite-friendly, feminine twist on basics. Also check out their high waist shorts (see fit photo at the bottom of this blog post), this super comfy cozy button up top with just the right amount of slouch, and this chic little puff sleeve top. Both of the tops fit TTS and bonus: are nursing friendly!

My straw circle bag is a very affordable find from last year and is still one of my favorite warm weather bags! I have yet to find another functional bag at such a great value with a zipper, lining, and crossbody strap. I only wish the strap were removable (I just tuck the strap into the bag when not using it but then the zipper can’t close all the way).

Love the cute, non-boxy top! Bummed that I didn’t read your post till after the blush sold out in my size. I seldom visit A-F but will start.

Great idea to do the coordinated look instead of a romper! I just cannot do rompers.

Great idea!! Random question on this look are you tucking in the shirt all the way around and blousing it a bit or are you doing a french tuck?

Hi Leslie! I just have a half tuck going on since I like the look of it untucked in the back (also much more practical since a full tuck usually comes quickly undone for me).

Unrelated to post, have you tried installing a water softener to Nori’s bathtub for her eczema?

Hi there – A few people have suggested that before and I’m really interested in trying it for both Nori and my husband! Thank you for the helpful reminder. I’m going to research some options since it definitely doesn’t hurt to try!

Love this outfit. So cute. Pretty shade of color. This is a great idea for long waist women like myself. It is hard to find rompers or jumpsuits long enough. Thank you for sharing 🙂

Another woman with a long waist here. I’d forgotten why I stopped wearing rompers. My thoughts exactly.
