3 Flattering Swimsuits by Summersalt

The first day of summer is here, which means the search for flattering swimsuits is on in full swing! Swimwear is always tricky, but after having Nori it’s been a little harder finding styles that I feel both confident and comfortable in (bye bye low rise bottoms!).

Earlier this year I was introduced to Summersalt, a direct-to-consumer line of suits made with premium compression fabric without the usual retailer markup. The brand values sustainability, and uses eco-friendly, recycled materials (read more on their FAQ page) in their swimwear as well as packaging. After trying several of their styles over the past few months, I’m a fan of their quality and brand mission so am excited to partner with them today! You can use code JEANWANG10 at checkout for a $10 gift towards your purchase.

Petite-friendly styles

If you’re petite or have a short torso, I recommend either a sleek two piece style, or a one piece with adjustable shoulder straps. My favorite petite-friendly option from this brand is their signature Sidestroke top (how cute is the new lemon print?) which fits well on me in size 2, paired with a mix & match bottom like the High Leg High Rise or the Classic High Rise.

Amongst their one pieces, a more petite-friendly option is the Fused Oasis, which features adjustable shoulder straps. The black color is universally flattering, and the white trim and slim belt creates a retro yet modern chic vibe. The front half of the suit has a full lining and there’s an elastic banded shelf bra with soft molded cups inside. On me, this suit has cheeky butt coverage and a high cut leg. Fit wise, I’m wearing their size 2 which would ideally fit best on someone who usually wears a 0 to 2. I’m hoping they will consider extending sizes to a 0 down the road!

mamas and minis collection

Summersalt also has a mamas and minis collection for your little one(s)! They have two choices for girls (bikini and one-piece) along with a colorful option for boys, so boy mamas are not left out of the matching fun. The cut on the mamas suit is similar to their signature Sidestroke one piece and has a little more leg and butt coverage than the Fused Oasis. Similar to the Fused Oasis, the fit of a sz 2 in this suit would also be ideal on someone who is a 0-2.

    Hi Jean,
You mentioned thst you tried their other styles. I’m wondering if you tried their Causeway or Sidestroke. If you did, what you thought about each of them for petites.

    Thanks

Have you tried any “mommy and me” clothing websites aside from swimwear? If so, which do you recommend? Thank you! I enjoy your blog so much.

Why does the Sidestroke remind me of Thinx (the brand, not the product)? These suits are so fun and hip, but they don’t tell you where they’re made. I’m probably going to go with one of the smaller local swimwear companies this year that I wrote about earlier but I’m excited to hear about Summersalt, which is a brand new to me, and you look amazing as always. I usually like your lead photo the most, but this time I equally love the matching pink suits. So fun!

oh, so cute. Nori has two front teeth. What a doll. It’s so much fun watching these children grow, and they grow so fast! I love the suits too. I’m going to check out that suite line now. And oh btw, I can’t get over how GREAT you look! Love, Val
