Snaps Lately: UPF 50 bow hat + ruffle dress

affordable summer tunic

San Diego sun hat (adjustable fit), face mask sz s, $27 ruffle dress xs (runs big; 10+ colors), Gap sandals (old; very similar on sale), Willow clutch + belt bag strap (see more pics here & here)

As I’m waddling into the last few weeks of pregnancy, there has been a lot of outfits on repeat for comfort and practicality reasons! You’ll usually find me these days in a very forgiving dress + hands free purse (like this nifty belt bag), a large hat for sun protection, and comfy flats for scurrying after a toddler.

INC slide on sandals (old; similar in sz 5-11), sun hat, dress xs
On Nori: Janie & Jack jumpsuit c/o (loove their pieces, esp on sale) + sun hat, Old Navy sandals

Bell Sleeved Tunic Dress (Under $27!)

There was a lot of interest in this affordable dress on IG stories so I wanted to share more info here! Please note, this has a very roomy and flowy cut, which fits right over even over my third trimester belly so it may be too big on smaller framed ladies. If you want some waist definition then definitely add a skinny belt. The material has a nicely textured, summery linen-like feel to it and the torso is fully lined down to the skirt so no sheerness issues. Bonus: generously sized pockets on the side seams!!
XS measures: 14″ across shoulders, 18″ across underarms, 18″ across waistline, and is 34″ long.

San Diego Bow Back Gondolier Hat (UPF 50, adjustable)

I got this hat earlier this year and absolutely love it. Not only does it provide a large area of UPF 50 sun protection on my face and neck, it’s also adjustable via an interior drawstring ribbon for a perfectly snug fit that won’t blow away off my head.

The gondolier silhouette has me dreaming of vacationing in Italy, and the quality and detailing of this hat feel more high end, from the sturdy woven material down to the mauve pink sash ribbon that ties in a bow at the back. My mom and I have other hats from this same brand over the years including the collapsible one, and have been very pleased with them!

As you can see, this full outfit was on repeat all weekend from our local farm to beach adventures!

Update: Wanted to share a heads up on a few free shipping promos!

Clean Beauty: Follain Free Ship on all Orders

Follain’s summer sale starts today, 8/25 – 8/27 with 15% off + free shipping on all orders. Discount is applied in cart. Code JEANWANG15 should work for the same 15% off on other days, but the free shipping no minimum is a rare promo from this smaller Boston company! A few products I love from there:

  • Clean Lemongrass Soap – With all the hand-washing we’ve been doing lately, I can’t recommend this enough. Non-toxic, non-drying, smells great (using natural fragrance) and the 38oz refill packs are a good value. Tip: You can keep soap in pretty custom bottles (choose either glass or less-breakable plastic) from this Etsy shop that my friend introduced me to! They ship quickly and the products look great.
  • Follain Bar Soap – another great soap that lathers up nicely and is non drying.
  • Ultra Hydrating Mask – I use this overnight as a thicker moisturizer every once in a while!

H&M Free Ship on All Orders

As an unrelated heads up, H&M is offering free shipping on all orders through 8/25! A few picks:

    Hi Jean,

Any tips on storing your sun hat so they keep their shape? Also, what products do you use to clean your sun hats?

Hi there – I think the easiest way is to stack them and stuff the bottom one with old clothes or tissue paper! If I get anything on my sun hats I just use a slightly damp cloth to wipe them off.

That’s a cute dress! The color is so happy and the ruffle sleeves are fun. I wish we had a flower field like this where we live. It looks like a fun place to get away and get fresh air!

Your pics make summer look appealing… it’s a different story in TX heat 😛 What does c/o stand for in your pic captions?

Hi Christina – I don’t envy the heat and humidity in TX this time of year ; ) I love visiting our friends there in the spring though! To answer your question, c/o is a disclosure that stands for “care of” and it means it was sent to me as a press gift from the brand.
