One trip that I always reminisce about is visiting the breathtaking Amalfi Coast (see our travel guide) while pregnant with Nori! This outfit reminds me of the breezy looks I packed for that trip, and the print on the blouse brings me back to the beautiful tile work in the coastal towns. For a little slice of Italy here in Boston, I passed by Eataly’s dining patio and saw it decked out in this charming lemon garden theme, and couldn’t resist snapping some photos!
I mentioned this blouse in a recent post – it’s part of Banana Republic’s more sustainable Ecovero fabric collection, and is a true wrap style top so has been able to expand with me during pregnancy! Below is how it looks untucked versus tucked in – which do you like better? Untucked, I think it’s most flattering over denim, slim ankle pants, or trousers. The blue floral print also comes in a midi skirt that runs small at the waist – good for petite ladies who usually have to alter the waist!
Stretchy pleated skirts have always been a staple in my closet, but they get extra love these days thanks to being so darn forgiving and low maintenance (no ironing needed). Here’s a couple currently available in petite-friendly sizes:
- Abercrombie chiffon midi skirt in petite & regular, with beautiful feminine prints
- ASOS petite skirt with zipper closure (so may not be as bump-friendly as the others)
- H&M pleated midi skirt – see on me and note that I found xs to fit like an xxs.
- A slightly shorter, lined H&M pleated pleated skirt in pink, black or blue floral
- Express pleated skirt, partially lined, avail. in black or white starting in xxs
Wow, what a gorgeous ensemble!
I love your style. You are always so put together and elegant. I am petite like you and I was wondering if you could give suggestions on a kimono. I love the style for the summer but I find most are one size fits all (which how can that be?) or are way too long. I thought maybe too a kimono would be a nice option for you while pregnant.
Thank you so much, Paulie! Personally, I haven’t tried many kimonos so can’t be of much help here, but I would suggest trying Amazon as they have a lot of options and also free shipping/returns.
Where can I purchase the mask that you’re wearing?
Hi Sheri, I have it linked above under the first photo, but it’s from Etsy!
I highly recommend them as they’re reversible and a great fit for smaller faces. I believe the shop is momentarily closed while she catches up on orders but Etsy allows you to set an alert for when they’re re-open and taking new orders.
Thank you for wearing your mask in your photos Jean. I think it’s important that we see fashion bloggers in masks.
I love this outfit! I also wanted to say thank you for taking so many pictures with masks on. By showing yourself wearing them, you’re setting a positive example, helping to normalize it, and encouraging others to do the same!
You look wonderful. And, a YUGE shout out for wearing a mask. You are a role model to many and are modeling “good behavior!” thank you.
Untucked vs. tucked. Its a question I often ask myself. I like the untucked look! Looks more comfy and relaxed!
You’re one of the prettiest pregnant ladies I’ve ever seen Jean. Love this outfit on you.
I love the whole look! You make the wrap top look way better than it appears on the BR website. I also wish to be in Italy this summer… alas, hopefully in future years.
It’s looking awesome and beautiful. Also you styled it in very amazing way.
I adore your skirt so much!

I was pregnant about a year after you were pregnant with Nori. I totally followed your maternity style. Especially the pleated skirts. It’s a very polished look as office wear as well.
I love your outfit – that pleated skirt is so pretty!
