Year 5 // The Wood Anniversary

boston public library wedding anniversary maternity photos

Eyelet dress 0/2 (not maternity – see my review), Manolo heels (similar here or lower), Bristols 6 adhesive nippies On Nori: Janie and Jack outfit from this post

And just like that, another year has passed (crying at how much Nori has grown)! Nick and my 5th wedding anniversary and 16 years together will be one to remember, even though we celebrated it quietly with takeout surrounded by unpacked boxes. We have an annual tradition to return to where we exchanged vows for a commemorative photo in my wedding shoes, but since the Boston public library is closed, we did what we could outside of the building : ) For our “wood anniversary,” Nick made me a wooden frame of relics and blueprints from our beloved first home that we just parted with, which I will treasure.

I’ve had this super affordable white eyelet dress for over a year now (did a detailed review in this post) and had previously recommended it for everyday wear or engagement / bridal activities and photos. I didn’t expect it to be so forgiving that it would still fit on my 6 month pregnant belly, so that’s certainly been a bonus! Heads up: make sure to check the estimated delivery date before ordering, because some sizes and colors in this dress are sold out on Prime and would take weeks to ship!

Took one with our face masks to remember these crazy times! Btw I usually wear these adorable reusable masks handmade by my friend Khatu (I order size Small), but since I had a face full of makeup on, I didn’t want to dirty those up that day.

Here’s a walk down memory lane from over the years! Oh how quickly those baby Nori days flew by.

Hi Lori – welcome and thank you! This is actually a tradition we borrowed from a friend (who has since given up on the tradition after having two little ones, hah!)

(Thank you for the photo in the mask…too many out there posting w/out and setting bad examples for followers. You have done the right thing!)

Plus one on this! I was out walking my dog and getting some fresh air and saw a bunch of kiddies with sammies in one hand and grabbing on to bars with the other and no masks!!! Mom didn’t seem to care? Gave me anxiety and I had to sprint away.

Thank you, Trisha! Marriage is definitely a work in progress – I’m very inspired by my grandparents who have been married over 60 years and am constantly learning from their relationship!
