Affordable Zippered Tote + 2 Nursing Friendly Outfits

work laptop tote bag for petite women

H&M faux leather purse (also in black croc), flounced tunic 0 (runs wide; nursing-friendly), M.Gemi sneakers 5 c/o (my review & coupon code), Tasha headband

One of the top requests I get over the years is for handbags that can fit a laptop, yet don’t overwhelm a petite frame. This latter part is a real challenge, so as soon as I stumbled across this affordable gem I had to share! It has so many useful features and is sized right in my sweet spot for totes, measuring 12″ across the bottom and 15″ across the top (fits my smaller Macbook Air with plenty of room).

Gibson knit blazer xxsp (my review), H&M nursing cami xs, M.Gemi shoes 5 c/o (runs big), Sam Edelman jeans (similar in petite – size up)

I hope some of you were able to get this handbag in pink after I raved about it last week! That color just sold out online, but two classic black options are still available (or you can try your luck in-stores). As mentioned here, this tote is made of a lightweight faux leather material that has a pebbled “saffiano” texture and is easy to wipe clean. It has adjustable length shoulder straps, a gold zipper across the top, lining, and two inside pockets. I also tried on this zippered tote bag in a pretty gray/blue, pictured below, which is very similar in material and shape, measuring about an inch bigger.

My dress (2 different color options) is listed as a “tunic,” but it’s plenty long on me as a dress! The button-down front is easy to nurse in, and the wider-cut, swingy silhouette happens to be maternity-friendly. It also looks cute with a waist belt for a little more shape definition. This one is on the pricier side for H&M but the material is nice quality up close, with a textured dots detailing and lining. The sleeves are slightly puffed and are full length.

Oh my God. Thanks to you, I bought the tote bag from H&M in both pink and black and they are now my go to everyday bags.

Before your post I had a hard time finding a tote bag that didn’t look huge on me as I am only 5′ tall. But those tote bags though.

They fit everything you could possibly need with you on a everyday basis.

Could you please do more reviews or posts of clothing items from H&M, Zara or Asos? Or maybe brands more accessible in Europe.

I live in Denmark and shipping cost and import taxes for Ann Taylor are a little over the top.

Thank you so much Jean for sharing! Love the entire outfit & the blush bag! For the ladies living in OC area in CA, the sold out (online) blush color bag is still available at H&M store at the MainPlace Mall in Orange. There are still 4 left as of today. (4/25/19)

I’m not sure what it is about stock photos! I usually have to do a double take after looking up an item online that I initially found in store…

Love this post and spring outfit ideas. Are you able to put a belt on the H&M tunic or due to the tiered seaming would it not look right? The blush tote is lovely.

Yes I would typically wear it with a belt actually, just didn’t have one packed here!

Hi Jean, this is a cute post, thank you! I do love and have followed your blog for years. I wonder if you are aware though, of the terrible working conditions in H&M factories particularly for women, and perhaps you can try to not promote so much as you do on your blog. While they may offer “cheap” options its at a huge human cost, and it pains me to see their merchandise highlighted so much on your blog. To read more – goodonyou.eco/how-ethical-is-hm/

Hi Jean! This looks adorable, and I’m loving thinking spring by looking at all these blooming trees!

This really isn’t related to this post, but is Nori-related. I’m sure you must know about this brand already, but in case not, you must check out Tea Collection and their current Southeast Asia kids’ line of clothing!

They really are! I love how their kids’ line is so globally-inspired. Theor collections change several times a year with a new “destination” inspiration. Such a neat idea! My son loves their graphic tees – he’s been sporting them since he was a year old. 🙂

That bag is gorgeous! When I saw it I thought it wasn’t for me because I don’t wear leather but when you said it was faux leather I was sold. Sad that the pink one is sold out, it’s my favourite but I’ll check when it comes back in stock. And I love the dress, the polka dots detail is super pretty without being too eye catching.

Love the look with the block heel. I always have trouble with a gap between my heel and the back of these types of shoes. Can’t tell from these pics but do yours have a big gap? Is that just expected or am I getting it wrong?

Hi Joan, I don’t have the gap with these! You shouldn’t with shoes that fit properly, you might just need to try a few different pairs and sizes to find the optimal fit for your feet shape!
