3 Classic Wool Blend Coats On Sale

I’ve been getting requests for an updated coat post (in particular from some thoughtful men doing last-minute gift shopping ; ), so wanted to highlight a few great options that are still in stock. Bonus – these are each very reasonably priced right now during year-end holiday sales! Let’s start with this similar alternative to my pine green coat, currently available in xs petite and up and is 40% off:

Ann Taylor Pine Green Coat

Compared to my Express Boucle Coat (reviewed here), this one by Ann Taylor is slightly more tailored in fit with a sash belt. Material is a medium weight brushed wool blend, versus the Express coat which is a nubbly textured boucle wool blend. There is 1 button and the belt is actually very thick, so I almost like this better worn without the belt, as an A-line coat. Or, swap in a wide black waist belt fastened over the coat for a fashion forward look!

Express belted wool coat (4 colors)

Double breasted + belted = an ever timeless design, and this option is on special promo right now for under $100! I ordered XXS regular for my mom (who is 5’2″) and tried it on. The fit is surprisingly slim for regular sizing, although petite ladies may want to shorten the sleeves and wear the belt a little higher up like I’m doing below. The wool blend is medium weight, and the overall look is definitely nicer than I expected for the price point! Both this coat and the green Ann Taylor one above do not have fabric belt loops, rather just thick string-type loops to help guide the placement of the belt.

Also in black & white houndstooth.

I wear mine so much (see on me), it’s worth mentioning again! This popular coat from years past is still available in XXSP in houndstooth or XSP in the solid burgundy color. This coat has a wider shawl collar and no buttons in the front for quick on and off. The buttonless wrap fit is very forgiving if you decide to wear more vs less layers, or if you’re expecting!

My sweater here is running low in sizes, but a similar cozy mockneck sweater that I own (in an older color) is also on sale and fully stocked in either a beautiful pine green or neutral gray. See the fit of an xxs on me here.

Hi Jean. I love the white coat and especially the tip coming with it regarding the belt loops. It’s often the little details that can make a huge difference. Wishing you a wonderful winter weekend. Love, Lieske

I love the shawl coat, it’s a great alternative to wearing a trench coat or a bubble jacket for winter! It looks so warm too. And you wore it so well, Jean! 🙂 ❤️

Hi Jean! I bought both the shawl coat and white coat from ann taylor based on your recommendations! What detergent do you use to clean the wool coats in the laundry machine?
