Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones! Nick and I are spending this week at my parents’ house, where we always have an interesting fusion feast of sorts. Black Friday sales started early online, and I’ve rounded up the best ones below! There’s so many pieces included that I already own and love, or have seen in-person and was impressed by. I’m keeping this list continuously updated through this weekend, so definitely check back!
The deal: 50% off everything with CELEBRATE, ends 11/27.
Check out this adorable peplum sweater (see last year’s version on me), this houndstooth top, and drape tweed jacket – all of which I tried on in my usual size and would recommend. Also this is a good opportunity to stock up on suede & leather pumps including my beloved Charlie bow pumps or these jazzy jeweled low heels.
The deal: Amazing 50% off all these styles (30% off everything else) with free shipping & returns. My top 2 recommendations are definitely the Narelle suede knee-high boots (still left in all sizes; see on me in gray sz 5) and the Marina over the knee boots (see my review). Both are beautiful quality, classic, and petite-friendly. Check out the sale handbags, coats, and mens section too for those on your gifting list!
The deal: 50% off + free shipping on everything! See recommendations from my recent his & hers outfit post, and these picks:
Classic trench coat starting in xxs in khaki, black, and red. Several of the reviews indicate this trench runs on the smaller and slimmer side. It caught my eye in-person because the material felt nice and water-resistant (not sure if it actually is) and gave the trench good structure, but I couldn’t find my size to try on.
Favorite gray legging jeans – (see on me) I think about half of my friends ended up picking up a pair of these! So stretchy and comfy – the “short” length is great for someone my height (5 feet tall) so taller ladies might want to try the regular.
Quilted suede moto jacket – a very nice genuine suede jacket for the price, evidenced by great reviews. I thought an xs would be better suited for someone one size up from me.
The deal: tons of “doorbuster” specials, plus 20% off non-Specials w/ code THANKS. So much good stuff for the home (check out the furniture sales) and gifting! Get free shipping on orders over $50 and free returns. Some of my must-haves:
Charles David OTK boots – *Update* Nordstrom Rack just got these in at a better price. Best affordable dupe I’ve found for the SW Lowlands, if you don’t mind faux suede. I have these in the black sz 5 and would highly recommend. The almond toe shape + mini 1.5″ heel looks classic. The shaft fit is pretty slim and stretchy, and as with most OTK boots will slouch a little throughout the day which I don’t mind. Here’s a genuine suede alternative from Aldo with a listed 12″ calf circumference.
Marc Fisher suede booties – Dupe for the Stuart Weitzman booties, which are also on sale for 40% off! I picked these Marc Fisher ones out during a recent photoshoot and they were so comfy right out of the box with a traction sole, plus $59 is a steal for suede boots. Also from the same brand: a good dark bronze pump is hard to find, but these block-heel pumps are very close to my old ones (the color will surprise you as versatile neutral, esp. for holiday).
Buffalo plaid super soft robe (also in 6 solid colors and a petite version) – so. darn. cooozy. I never want to take this off. The xs regular goes a bit past my knees but the sleeves are actually a good length for my short arms! I woke up one morning and caught Nick nonchalantly sipping coffee while wearing (read: stretching out) my robe, and might’ve let out a shriek before forcing him to get his own. This unfortunately does not come in mens, but he got an xxxl which fits like a mens S – M.
Cable knit throw with poms ($39.99 from $120) – perfect holiday or housewarming gift. This one is nice, thick quality with plush pom poms. The chunkier knit throws are always pricey, so this is a great deal at about 70% off!
DVF hardshell spinner suitcase (on sale + extra 10% off w/ THANKS)- These are very lightweight and come in 3 sizes … I found the smallest one to be too small, but the medium 24″ is perfect as my checked bag. Granted these are not high quality suitcases like my Bric’s, but they are a fraction of the price and I’ve yet to have any issues after using and checking mine at least a dozen times.
Sweater weather picks that I’ve tried on: open cardigan in a nice sturdy knit for wearing with tees & leggings/skinny jeans, petite dolman sweater that’s a forgiving cross between tunics and capes/ponchos, and a lighter weight poncho that is not overwhelming on petites (under $20).
Petite coats with good reviews – lots of puffer options on major sale in several lengths, and the Calvin Klein ones start in size xxs petite!
The deal: Extra 20% off select already on-sale items, ends Sunday! So many closet favorites:
Franco Sarto knee-high boots for narrow calves, in sizes 4 to 13! I don’t own these, but did try on a size 5 and the fit was definitely narrow and actually hit me below the knees. I personally prefer OTK boots, but wanted to share these for those who like lower shafts (more office-appropriate).
Halogen cashmere sweater in 15 colors and petite sizing – see on me here. Such a good price for 100% cashmere! It’s a lighter weight piece but is super soft, and I love that it’s a little longer with slits. The rainbow of colors means there’s something for everyone on your gift list.
BP Trolley ankle booties – Best price I’ve seen for these in the solid colors. Don’t miss them during the extra sale period! I have two colors and have worn them so much over the years. These run a tad small so I take sz 5.5 – see on me.
Sam Edelman Blake booties – see on me in sz 5 *Update* – thank you Laticia & Nikki for letting us know the Blake booties are just $73 with free ship on SE’s website! Use code SAMSGIVING (Nordstrom price-matched btw, if you ordered there). I’ve been getting questions on this style vs. the BP Trolley. For me, the BP ones are a trusty everyday, lower casual bootie with a rounder toe which I wear to run errands or for longer periods of walking. The Sam Edelman ones are a little higher both in the heel and shaft, w
ith an almond toe that has a more leg-lengthening effect.
Bobeau fleece drape cardigan – see on me. This is the lowest price I’ve seen this piece, with tons of colors and sizes left in stock! I give these as gifts every year, for new moms, Christmas, just because…
Stuart Weitzman “Urban” OTK boots with block heel for 40% off! (I haven’t tried these)
J.Crew – 40% off your purchase with code HOLIDAY. They are the only brand to make petite 000 and xxxs (sounds ridiculous, but such is the world of vanity sizing) for those extra petite ladies. I usually take this size only for pants and skirts, where I like a snug fit across the waist. Check out: icon trench coat (petite 000 fit best), wintress puffer coat (see on me – should’ve sized up one more to XSP in hindsight), and No 2. wool pencil skirts (petite 000 fit best)
The deal: FRIDAY20 for 20% off everything, FRIDAY30 for 30% off if you spend over $100, and FRIDAY40 for 40% off if you spend over $200! Ends 11/27 8AM. See my latest Modcloth post here and one of my favorite older holiday outfits (my skirt is back in stock!). Pick up one of these cute cropped cardigans (I have two colors) if you need a free shipping filler.
The deal: 50% off everything with FRIYAY. I haven’t seen these pieces in-person, but just placed an order as the sale is too good!
– Funnel neck coat in petite, regular in tall with many colors to choose from.
– Lace top in lilac shaddow – a long sleeve version of one of my favorite LOFT tops!
– Plaid shirtdress – this would be so cute with a wider belt and either pumps or boots.
– Terry long open hoodie – looks amazingly coz to lounge in
– Petite ponte leggings (also come in maternity!) – these have been recommended to me by numerous readers as leggings that don’t need hemming on short legs! Try this cowl neck tunic as a longer piece for wearing over leggings.
Phew! Happy shopping! Let me know any questions you might have on these picks, and be sure to check back tomorrow (I’m seeing some great new deals for other retailers roll in)!
Hi there, I just received the robe Jean recommended in regular size. It is longer than how I'd usually like my dresses/ skirts (I'm close to 5'1" and ordered the Regular XS). Would have definitely preferred petite sizing but unfortunately it doesn't come in buffalo check. :-/ It's really soft and cozy though, so I might just keep it. If you're ok with the pink I'd say definitely go for the petite.
I just received the robe – I'm 4'11" and 103 lb and it's so perfect!!! It is SO SOFT! Just what I needed as temps drop!!! xx thanks for your blog!!!
Would you get the robe in petite sizing if it was available? I ask because I am considering this one: http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/charter-club-petite-super-soft-shawl-collar-short-robe-only-at-macys?ID=3008814&CategoryID;=225#fn=sp%3D1%26spc%3D7%26ruleId%3D65|BA%26slotId%3D2%26kws%3Dcharter%20club%20robe%20petite
Thanks Jean!
I think I possibly received the SW's leggylady boots instead. There is no lining, just the one layer of suede; I think the lack of lining can make the boots stretch out too easily. So that is my another guess – I received stretched out boots lol. I was able to try on size 5 in the past, and it was pinching my toes with thin socks on. I am ordering a replacement 5.5 hoping to receive a nicer version with the lining. What a journey to acquire allegedly perfect boots for narrow calves. I am convinced they are worth it though!!
Hi! I can't speak to whether or not they are the wrong boots without seeing them, but SW flat boots are known to run about half size big in the foot area. I usually wear between 5 and 5.5 in US brands and I wear a 5/35 in my SW lowlands and have room to fit socks. What is the lining on yours like, I'm curious? Mine are from last year so it's possible they could've changed it this year, but I hope they would not change anything dramatically. I would definitely send a picture to Nordstrom and am sure they would help resolve this with the right size or style (if you got a different one by mistake)!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well, Thao! Happy to help, and please do keep me posted on what works out for you!
I finally splurged and got the SW lowland boots in black! I read your measurement and ordered size 5.5 (boots had size 36 stamped) but I could fit another toe length and the boots looked super long on me… also there was no silky lining. Do you think I received the wrong boots?? I got the boots from Nordstrom (they were able to price match the Bloomindale's 20% off promo).
Looks like Nordstrom did a price update – only the chocolate suede Trolley has the extra 20% off. All other colors are $84.90.
Happy Thanksgiving, Jean! I'm literally buying all the things you posted. Thank you so much for posting. I'm thankful to get to know you thru your blog!
Good to know! Thank you
Sizes are usually removed from the website once they sell out, unfortunately!
So sweet of you, thank you!
Thank you for the kind words! Happy to help
Hi! I usually wear xxs or 00p there. Their sweaters/tops, jackets, leggings, jeans should fit off the rack, however skirts, dresses, and more structured pants are usually a little big on the waist for me and may need alterations.
Mine is doing the same for the black bootie but the chocolate is coming up as $67.91. Maybe it's a sign to get the brown… hmm
I really enjoyed reading this post and seeing the sale prices! The pics under each section was also easy to refer to! Love your style and advice Jean!
Hi Jean – what sizes you typically wear at LOFT? Looking at ordering some items online and wanted to refer to yours sizing. Thanks also for the list!
Happy Thanksgiving from the other part on the Ocean!!! Btw love your recommendations!!! You are so stylish and always with good ideas and tips!!!
Have a nice day!!!

Great! Thanks dear 😉

Great post! lovely sales!

Hi! It does the same for me too – Trolley shows up as $84.90 without the extra 20% off and my other item has the extra 20%. Logging in within the U.S. so definitely weird and hopefully a glitch they will fix while my size is still available when I get around to ordering tomorrow after customer service gets up and running! If not, I'm taking it as a sign that I should be saving money instead 🙂
Thanks for sharing! Love the express trench coat but don't see a size xxs…sounds like it's only xs-L. 🙁 How did you get an XXS?
Also, second the rec on the Ponte seamed leggings. I did find I had to size up in these though, they both ran really small and there was a significant difference between the fit of the sizes in various colors
There's no boundaries when it comes to staying cozy : ) Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!
Hi Karishma – ah, I'm sorry, but snow sports and I don't mix so I am not the best person to blog about ski jackets : ) If anyone else has suggestions, please chime in!
Hi Thao – that's odd, it shows up as $67.91 for me even before I add it to my cart. Are you logging in from a country outside of the US? If everything else on sale seem to register the extra 20% off in your cart, it might be a glitch from your account or something. Their customer service should be back up and running tomorrow to help!
Hi – I have that review scheduled for this weekend! There should be plenty of stock left and the sale will still be going on, so please check back : )
Hi Jean – can you give us a review of the plaid chicwish jacket? It's on sale now and Im interested but would like to know your thoughts on quality.
Thanks!
Thank you!
LOVE these picks! Quick question on the BP Trolley booties. It says there's an extra 20% off, but when I add it to my bag, it doesn't register. The price stays at $84.90. Other styles that have the extra 20% seem to register the price difference when placed in my shopping bag though. Do you think it might be a mistake? Thank so much! I've been dying for a pair of these since you blogged about them! 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving!
Definitely taking advantage of the Nordstrom sale 🙂

Hi Jean!
Thanks for the comprehensive guide- there are some great buys in here! I just can't get enough of your blog!
Can you PLEASE do a ski jacket post soon? I've been having a really hard time finding a flattering, petite-friendly coat for the slopes. Would love some suggestions!
-Karishma
Awesome list! Thanks so much for sharing. I love that Nick got his own robe in the women's size. Your snapchat was awesome. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Thank you Nikki & Laticia below for the tip! They have so many good colors on there. I'll email Nordies for a price adjustment : )
Last year it was mostly the same discounts as Black Friday but with free ship at any price! If I hear of any good ones I'll definitely share.
Sam Edelman Blake Booties are on sale for $73 on the Sam Edelman website!
Thank you so much Jean for sharing your recommendations! I placed a few orders myself to get warm up for Black Friday, haha. For the Sam Edelman Blake Booties, I found it's much cheaper if you order directly from Sam Edelman website. They offer 30% off all selections including these booties. All size and color are available as well.
So much beautiful and cute things on sale! 🙂
Merci for sharing! 🙂
