New Purchases & Summer Business Attire Inspiration

I apologize for not sharing any work outfits as of late. I have some posts lined up though, promise! To compensate for my recent lack of work focus, I’d like to share some pics from my iPhone files for inspiration. I’m currently working with a fashionable friend, who shows up every day in outfits oozing of Spring/Summer. She’s not petite, but may of these items below did/do come in petite sizing.

1. Crisp White Suit with Rust Ruffles
Suit – Ann Taylor, Blouse – J.Crew (avail. here in 0P), Pumps – Unlisted
AT has a white pencil skirt here avail. in 00P

2. Summer Clementine
Cardigan, blouse, and print skirt – J.Crew. This outfit was quite popular with our client, lol.

3. Khaki Suit with Jewel-Toned Blouse
Suit – Ann Taylor, Blouse – Nordstroms. BR currently has a khaki suit in 00P (jacket and skirt)

4. White Blazer and Vintage Lace

Ahh, remember this skirt? Jacket, skirt, tank, and necklace – Ann Taylor. Watch – Michael Kors

After seeing these outfits, I can’t wait to find a white suit and cream lace skirt for myself. Readers – what are your summer must-have pieces for work?

Wow, love the way your colleague dresses (esp. the Summer Clementine outfit). It's very inspiring! I'm going to start working full time soon and can't imagine going to all that trouble everyday in light of 7AM wake up times.

P.S. Great new purchases, especially the top and such awesome deals you scored on them!

Oh and I just noticed her hair, fabulous! Especially the updo in the Summer Clementine outfit. I wish I had the time to do my hair differently everyday but I barely have time to just blowdry it and go!

Your colleague is tres chic, I can't stand it! 🙂 Meaning I'm in awe, of course, and highly impressed. I'd like to get my wardrobe to look just a little more polished than it is now, but I don't think I could handle getting it up to her speed.

I am in LOVE with the clementine outfit. Crazy, madly in love. Makes sense because it's J. Crew, but I think that is the perfect summer work outfit.

I've had some experience with U.O. before and found that XS and S sized dresses and skirts work well for my petite frame. Size 0 tends to run large for petites however. As for quality, it's half and half. I've seen some good quality in their store as well as some over-priced cheaply made clothing. Overall I think they have some unique styles I tend not to find otherwise. Their sister store Anthropologie has some amazing clothing 99% of which is not available in petite sizing unfortunately. 🙁 Looking forward to reading your review on your U.O. purchases!

And like the first comment, I work in a lab and just got a stain on my jeans yesterday. I wish I could go back to undergrad and major in business just so I could wear all the nice work clothes you do!

I just ordered two dresses from urban outfitters. Ones a floral dress and one is a white eyelet strapless dress. I hope they fit though because they were only available in 0 not 00.

Uh oh… I got suckered into the free return shipping too! I've never tried on anything from UO either, but with free shipping AND free return shipping, how could I resist! I ended up getting that lace blouse and some dresses that were on sale. I would feel better if they offered things in XXS though.

And your friend is definitely very fashionable!

I like the lace skirt a lot. It's super girly! I go to urban outfitters all the time and I never end up with anything 🙁
    One day…

I hope this works out for you!

Cute stuff, but don't even talk to me about anything Michael Kors, his stuff is so not petite-friendly. He always makes cute stuff, but only for giants.

Ah I really wish I didn't work in a lab after looking at these pics! I can't do skirts or heels or open toed shoes 🙁

But if I did work in a normal office environment it would definitely be thin silk blouses and nude heels 😀

Good luck on your UO purchases! Hope they fit you 😀
