Sweater Dress Finds Under $100

mom and daughter family holiday christmas photo outfits

Last week when the little ones got all dolled up, I couldn’t resist joining in on the fun and snapping some photos together! It’s been a moment since I put on something other than casual wear, but this knit dress (50% off!) is one of those pieces that look striking with minimal effort. It’s stretchy and comfortable which my postpartum body appreciates, yet it still made me feel quite shapely and glam. It’d be a great option for flattering holiday photos, or if you’re just getting dressed up with family at home.
As an added bonus, this dress is nursing friendly with the wrap front pulling down easily (I wore it with this lightly padded nursing bra that I love), and it’d be darling over a baby bump too (plenty of stretch in the material). I only wish it came in petite sizing, as the regular runs a little long on me in the length and sleeve length, which I have folded underneath – I’m 5 feet tall and 105lb right now, for fit reference!

    Hi Jean,

I tried using the PETITES discount coupon on One Quince and it did not work. Do you know if it cannot be combined with their current sale?

    Thanks,

    Karen

Hi Karen, its PETITE5 (the number 5, not S) – let me know if that works!

Thank you, Jean. The PETITE5 code worked! Unfortunately, the oatmeal dress is out of stock in my size ( I waited too long!) but got it in gray instead. I am on the waitlist for the oatmeal color, though.

        Thank you so much!

Hi. I think you are wearing a diamond eternity band on your pointer finger. Pictures aren’t close up. Can you tell me where it is from and what ct size? I live in the Boston area and my ring finger size is 3.25. It is hard to find an eternity band around 2.5 cts without being custom made in my size. Thanks.

Hi C, sorry for the delayed reply! I don’t remember the details on size for mine but if you go to Barmakian jewelers (several locations in the Boston area) they are super helpful with eternity bands and there you can try on various ct sizes to see what you like best.

Hi Jean, I’m 4’10, in my early 20s, and trying to build a sophisticated wardrobe like yours. One staple I’ve been looking for (with no success) is a wool coat with a defined, tapered waist. I was wondering if you have suggestions or are planning to do a blog post this winter!

Hi Paige – have you tried JCrew’s lady day coat? The waist is pretty tapered and it’s a tailored, more fitted wool coat

I love that black sweater dress, but how do you keep the top wrap portion from being too low cut. I’m 5’0″, maybe slightly shorter I hate to say, and many tops are just too low cut for. Or should I say I’m not comfortable with such a low cut. What would you use to secure it without ruining the fabric or looking like a tacky fast fix?

Hi Val! That’s usually my issue too, so I was pleasantly susrprised that this one wasn’t too low. I usually just use a tiny safety pin in a color close to the garment!

Hey Jen – beautiful dress and love Nori’s outfit too! Question – where did you get the Christmas tree?

Hi Viola – I forget as this one is maybe 10 years old (I took the wrong one out of storage…this one is too high for our ceiling, hah) but my favorite flocked one is from King of Christmas. They make slim trees that take up less of a footprint in smaller homes.
