It feels like such an odd time to be sharing celebratory news with everything that’s going on in the world, but we have an exciting update from our corner of the universe…our little family will be expanding this Fall!
We are absolutely thrilled and excited, but also nervous with a new set of emotions from my first pregnancy. Nori still feels like my baby to me (and probably always will), and fills my heart…but also seemingly all of my energy these days, especially while in quarantine in our small space. I know there’ll be a lot of changes with newborn plus active toddler life, but one reassuring thing is seeing so many of you mamas doing it with grace!
The other difference about this pregnancy is how we got here. The first question from family and friends we’ve shared the news with has been whether we did IVF, so I wanted to be open here. Having gone through IVF with Nori, we were very hopeful to not have to go through it again. Especially right now, so many infertility treatments have been paused or cancelled during COVID, and it breaks my heart for mamas-to-be who are left waiting in limbo.
We started trying naturally for a second child last year, and frankly I expected we’d try for a year or two and then possibly go down the road of fertility treatments again. Well, things work in mysterious ways because here we are…

I didn’t tell anyone, even close friends the first few weeks, in fear that it was too good to be true. A small part of me wishes I had a little more time to resurface for air from our whirlwind toddler, but I’m embracing how we got here and am so excited for Nori to be a big sister!
As for this blog, I hope to continue sharing everything I love, which will always include fashion! Like with my first pregnancy, I’ll be wearing a lot of forgiving, non-maternity pieces, and have been doing my best to include measurements on clothing featured so you guys can continue to have a reliable reference point.
Thanks so much for sharing in our journey over the past decade – I can’t wait to continue growing and learning from this beautiful community.

Hi, I just wanted to say thank you so much for your blog, your tips and sharing your motherhood journeys!! You are a beautiful person inside and out and thanks for all you do:) sending love from TX!
congratulations !! So happy for you and fam. Both babies are gorgeous. Enjoy every second of it. They grow so quickly that then you find yourself asking yourself when did they grow so much! Lol. I think you’ve been an inspiration to all petite and not so petite woman out there. Congrats again to you and your husband. So glad your mom is there to help!

Amazing news , congrats ! Our older one was 2.4 when she became a big sister, it will be amazing
Just curious to know what your factors were in infertility? Assuming female factor without any male factors? My family has male factor infertility only.. I’ve never heard of anyone conceiving naturally after having to go through IVF for male factory infertility…. but I remain hopeful. Really don’t want to have to go through it again, especially since nothing is covered by insurance in my state.
Hi there – we did have male infertility factors, but everyone’s situation is very unique. Wishing you all the best as you start trying for your second! xx
Wow!!!! Huge congratulations to you, Jean, Nick, Nori, and Little Baby on the Way! Our oldest son was 2 1/2 years old when our boy/girl twins were born. It’s been 18 months now, and some days are crazy, but it’s made me organized to a fault, out of necessity, and we’re keeping our sense of humor and having fun with it. I know you’ll all adapt, and very quickly you won’t be able to imagine your family any other way. 🙂
Wishing you absolutely all the best in your pregnancy, delivery, and beyond! Nori is such a little doll–absolutely can’t wait to see you add to your brood…hurray! Over the moon for you!!!
I just found this post. Many congratulations!
Jean congrats!!!! I’ve been following your blog for a while and love how open and honest you are and have been! Your stories are so inspiring and posts are always informative! So excited for you Nick and Nori! Blessings and best wishes
Congratulations……Im soo happy for you guys God bless you❤️❤️❤️
Wow, Yay! Thanks for sharing. All of the nervousness is totally normal. We have three each spaced just under 2 years apart and it has been fantastic. That first year with 2 so little is hard at times, but SO SO wonderful to see the older one develop kindness and empathy and the young one just adores the older. Beware, the little one doesn’t stay little for long as they’re always looking up to the older. Such a joy and great news that you did not have to go down the IVF route again, its not easy!
I also used fertility treatments for my first child, and then got pregnant on my own for my second child. I was shocked, and prayed that all would go well, and it did! Miracles happen every day.
Congrats! I am so happy for you and your growing family
OhMiGosh CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!! I am soo happy I have goosebumps for you Jean! I have followed you for now close to 10 years and it’s so amazing to see this happening, especially after all that happened with Nori. My older two boys are about 19 months apart (the third and last trails the second boy by about 2.5yrs) and it is SUCH a joy to see them having the best time together and bonding so much during this quarantine. I can’t wait for you to see this and feel the joy yourself! Thank you for sharing this amazing news with us and CONGRATULATIONS to all three of you again! XO
Congratulations! I never comment on blogs, but want to say thank you for blogging through all the stages in your life! Once upon a time, I was a grad student in the Boston area with no clue how to dress my age. I also got married shortly after you, and had a baby girl shortly after you. I honestly love that I can buy some of the outfits you post knowing they will fit me as a petite asian american (work outfits, pregnancy outfits, nursing friendly, etc!), and have equally appreciated the heartfelt posts about pregnancy, infertility, your hospital delivery, useful baby products, and more. By the way, I filled my hospital bag with almost everything you recommended, and it was perfect.
Congratulations Jean! This is great news and looking forward to your updates!
Congratulations Jean! I’ve been a big fan of your blog for many years; since you were still working in finance! I’ve LOVED reading about your experience in motherhood with Nori as it paralleled my experience with my 18 month old and now as you are going to be a mother to another, I’m excited to follow along with how you deal with more than one child. Thanks for being the friend we don’t actually know in real life but can rely on at any given time.
Awww, congratulations!!
Congratulations Jean and Nick!
It is nice to hear some good news during this stressful time. Enjoy your pregnancy.
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations!!!! This is exactly the type of positive news we all need right now.
Congratulations may god bless you and your family!
Congrats to you and your family!! Great news – really happy for you!!
Congratulations, Jean and Nick! This is such great news and it’s so important to celebrate something so positive especially in this time. Thank you for always showing us how to not only dress with style, but sharing with us your personal and honest opinions always with grace and humility. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and being so brave.
Congratulations!

Congratulations! So excited and thrilled for the entire family. I enjoy the evolution of your blog from fashion to now including recipes and maternity/toddler info. Although my kids are a bit older, seeing Nori grow has been such a joy. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us.
Congrats! So happy for your growing family! I’ve been a lurker off and on for over a decade and I have always enjoyed all your fashion and travel posts. As of late, I’ve really been appreciating your kid and food posts as we now have a 7 month old! Sending positive vibes your way and look forward to following along on your new journey!
Jean! So happy for you and Nick. What wonderful news during these crazy times. Wishing you a healthy, stress free pregnancy!
Congratulations Jean! Thank you for sharing this and your whole journey to become a mother. Your story about IVF touched me very deeply and I was so so happy for your happy outcome! It gave me comfort when starting my own fertility journey and going through multiple miscarriages last year. I was aware that it’s not easy to get pregnant but didn’t expect the hell of losing one baby after another while getting pregnant was fast. You inspired me to be open about our story when I came out with this pregnancy to friends and at work. I have found many sisters in similar situations. I’m so humbled and amazed to be 29 weeks along and so close to our rainbow baby. Looking forward to your new maternity content!
Oh how wonderful, congratulations!! I’m so glad you were spared another round of IVF, as well, I know it wasn’t easy and can only be even more challenging during this pandemic.
I’m so excited at the news of your growing family!
Congratulations Jean and Nic!
I’m sure Nori will be a very good big sister 🙂
So, so exciting!!!! Congratulations on your growing family. So happy for you.
Congrats!!! Sending you all good wishes. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Congratulations! I had a feeling you were expecting again. Just a glance at one of your photos and a comment you made . Old mother instincts! 😃
Congratulations Jean!!! So happy for you and your family. I am due in Sept with out first and have been checking out all our old blogs for recommendations and so can’t wait to see what new things you add to the list! Hope you are feeling good.
Congratulations!!! I’m so happy for you and your family!! I have a daughter just a little younger then Nori (less then 6 months) and am due this fall too! I loved all of your posts about travelling with Nori, which I used when we went to Europe last spring with our family. I can’t wait to follow along with this pregnancy and baby (especially since I’ll be going through very similar timing). And obviously the clothing too! Congratulations again!!
Congratulations, what wonderful news! I wanted to thank you for your honesty about your motherhood journey. Your post on post-partum depression was the « aha » moment I needed to realize that how I was feeling after the birth of my daughter was maybe not normal. I saw my doctor and immediately started with therapy and meds, and it has changed my life for the better. I was shocked by some comments telling you to just be grateful or positive or whatever, and wanted to let you know that sharing your experience in all its complexity helped me enormously to accept the complexity of my own experience, which has made me happier and a better parent. You are doing wonderful work and I love your blog and your tone. ❤️
Congratulations! Your fertility story is exactly like mine! Our first daughter was IVF, and thinking we are pretty sure we won’t be able to get pregnant naturally (though I did everything “right” after baby was born, including lowering my stress level and easing back into my work), we actually started trying 8 months post partum and got pregnant naturally the next month!
We had another girl and they are only 18 months apart :).
So excited for you and Nori! She’s going to love having a little sibling to play (and sometimes quarrel) with!
Congratulations!!! I am a longtime reader, 5′ and also expecting. It’s been super fun and helpful to read through your postings about well…everything! Wishing you a healthy, happy second pregnancy ❤️
Above all, thank you for sharing your stories and experiences. It takes bravery to share. Keep up the lovely work, stay safe and take care.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful news! During such a bleak time this news really warmed my heart. I have a son and my daughter just turned one. I know you’ll love having two just like I do. Have a safe and healthy pregnancy xoxo
Congratulations!!!
