I rarely wore black pre-pregnancy, but this magical, slimming hue has been my uniform as of late! And when combined with a long & lean silhouette, the look from the front view can almost be deceptive (but for me, there’s no hiding things anymore from the side angle!).
This affordable, fitted dress from Nordstrom has lots of stretch and is also petite-friendly in length. It’s a juniors brand so runs a little smaller than womens (I went one size up), so sizing will depend on how curve-hugging you want this to be. I love the elongating effect of a higher neckline paired with a deep side slit. I have to echo the online reviewer in that this is an easy piece to dress up or down – literally from something as casual as a beach outfit (I’ll be pairing it with my straw hat + flip flops) to an outfit dressy enough for a formal wedding guest!
I also wanted to share try-on photos for two non-maternity pieces that are flowy enough for third trimester outfits, plus are cool and comfy as we enter the hottest few months (fingers crossed I survive August)! I’m trying on regular sizing instead of petite for some extra length to cover the belly. Since I’m still wearing my pre-pregnancy sizes here, I would say both of these tops run a little big.
To add a little heat to this solid black look, I swiped on my favorite red lip color in “red square.” I first bought this pencil last year after a frustrating search through dozens of reds. This one was the perfect matte, warmer red-orange hue, and the velvety formula doesn’t accentuate dry flakes / lines on my lips like many other matte lip colors!

How do you manage to hide your bra in a sleeveless top near the armhole. Most of the sleeveless top ( even in petite sizing) that I find, shows my bra because of a large armhole. What do you do to hide them and make you look so elegant?

And even the pregnancy dress from h&m can be worn now and you won’t even notice it’s pregnancy one. I guess it helped that I had a really small belly 🙂 almost there! Good luck 🙂
