Convertible pearl earrings + white lace skirt

white lace pencil skirt petite fashion

Banana Republic lace skirt 00 petite c/o (2 colors; runs big), drop earrings (these convert into simple pearl studs!), merino sweater shell xs c/o, Quay sunglasses

Banana Republic is having a great sale right now with 40% off your purchase, and free expedited 3-5 day shipping on orders over $100! Use code BRSHIP. While visiting friends in Houston a while back, I shot this look for BR’s summer collection (hence just an early stage bump) and am sharing it now that the pieces are available!

I know a lot of petite ladies are afraid of midi lengths, but in certain silhouettes it can be so elegant and elongating. The midi style works here on a pencil skirt worn high at the natural waist, with a sultry side slit to break things up. This is one of those pieces that can take you from a summer office look straight to date night / drinks with friends. For work, I’d add a coordinating cardigan and swap in closed-toe shoes – these block-heel pumps are very comfy (see on me here, here & here), and also come in a chic two-toned color!

I’m about four months pregnant in these photos and fit in my pre-pregnancy size, so I would suggest sizing down if you want to wear this at your natural waist. Skirt in size 00 petite measures 13″ across the waist, 17″ across the hips, and 26″ long. The beautiful eyelet lace is lightweight but not too delicate, and the skirt is lined, with a zipper entry.

elegant pearl cluster drop earrings
Yes, you read the title of the post right – these earrings are convertible! I looked online and there’s nothing in the description that indicates this, but the 5 little pearl drops slide off the post as one “cluster,” so you can also wear these simply as pearl studs.

Thank you Banana Republic for partnering on this post.

  2. Dear Jean. Pearl earrings are such a great asset to many outfits, be it chic or casual. I have got quite some different pairs, so there is nearly always one that works! Love the ones you are showing here a lot too! Love, Lieske

This lace skirt reminds me of the lace pattern in the dress you bought from Asos for a wedding-related celebration. I bought that dress too (from your post recommendation) and love it.

  14. I love your petite recommendations, Jean! This skirt is super cute and it fits you super well! I find that tight, body-hugging dresses tend to fit our small frames better! 🙂
