Saks Friends & Family Event + Likely Dresses Review

Greetings from Seattle! We’re here visiting family, and were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful blossoms and glimpses of spring (just an added bonus on top of the good food)! I’m partnering with Saks today to share about their Friends & Family Event that just launched, with 25% off a selection of items and 20% off jewelry!

While trying on some pieces, I came across a new-to-me dress brand, Likely. Sizing starts in a 00 regular and runs very narrow (11.75″ across the waist on a 00), which I know some of you will appreciate! It’s hard to tell in stock photos, but their dresses are made of a medium-weight structured material (with just a hint of stretch) and are usually fully lined. This Manhattan style that I picked out is simple, but elevated by clean tailoring.

Even though the descriptions may say bodycon-style, it’s not the super stretchy bandage-style bodycon that you’d associate with clubbing dresses. The silhouette is fitted through the torso but does not hug every curve in the rear end, so it’s a little more structured and refined like a sheath dress. I wouldn’t recommend Likely dresses for maternity wear since they run so slim across the waist (I went up two sizes here), but it’s something for me to look forward to wearing post-pregnancy!

Measurements of sz 00: 11.75″ across waist, 14.5″ across underarms, 16.5″ hips
Measurements of sz 0: 12″ across waist, 15.25″ across underarms, 16.75″ hips
Measurements of sz 2: 12.5″ across waist, 16″ across underarms, 17″ hips
I also tried on a few other of their styles (including the Carolyne), and found them to measure similarly.

Here are a few other recommendations from Saks’ Friends & Family Event:

  • The Laundress garment care – We regularly use their stain bar (for perspiration, shirt collar & underarm stains), stain solution (for food or colored stains), and wool and cashmere shampoo … and we’re interested in trying SO many of their other products.
  • For my fellow moms-to-be: a huge selection of adorable aden + anaisSophie the Giraffe, and this unisex Skip Hop diaper backpack, which our friends like. It comes with stroller clip straps and a changing pad inside. Their fold-up changing station is also on sale!
  • Designer jeans – the best time to pick up a pair of designer denim you’ve been eying! My all-time favorite white jeans (last worn here) are included. The fabric is stretchy and comfortable (more opaque compared to others I’ve tried), the cropped length is great on petites, and the distressing looks very subtle on me compared to the stock photo.
  • Bric’s luggage – I’m sure you guys know by now how much I love my Bric’s suitcases! They look beautiful, are lightweight and durable (I’ve only used them as carry-on’s, though) and the wheels move fluidly. We have both the Bellagio and Capri 21″ carry-on suitcases – the Capri is lower-maintenance, but note the capacity is slightly smaller than the Bellagio.

Say no to the skip hop backpack!!! The straps are way too far apart for narrow shoulders. Also not sure if mine was a lemon, but the stroller straps and backpack straps themselves started ripping off the body of the bag within two months of normal use. Save yourself the headache and invest in a jujube brb. You don’t regret it!

I LOVE Laundress products. We use the delicate wash for all my daughter’s dance wear and our lingerie, and it works wonderfully. That cashmere wash you mentioned revived a sweater my mother bought in 1960. Look on their website for lots of tips on how to use the products and take out different stains. And I’m so delighted to see your baby bump!!

Jeannn, do Old Navy pixie ankle pants fit you? Do you know? You and I are very very similar in size and shape and I’m not able to try them on. I know the LOFT Marisa don’t fit you, so was pretty devastated that I couldn’t order their colorful spring pants. Hoping the Old Navy ones might be a better bet. Thanks!!!

I love Likely! How is the length on their dresses though? Are they good for petites all around? White is definitely your color btw.

I haven’t heard of the brand Likely either but it looks like they make good quality dresses. I like this white dress you picked. I can tell that the material isn’t snug but also of thicker material which is always a plus. Your handbag is so adorable too. Love that it is different from what I have seen and small enough to carry the necessary essentials! Happy Tuesday Jean and I hope you guys are enjoying your trip,
