Despite some rain, Boston treated us to a mild day last week in the 60s. Not quite enough to put tights away for good, but I’ll take it! This work look features a number of warm weather details including feminine eyelet, bows and embroidery. Ann Taylor is having a very good sale this weekend with 50% off most items (use code YESPLEASE), including all the pieces in this outfit!
This navy pencil skirt is very similar to a popular style I featured last year, with a flattering gathered waist and sash tie (and pockets!). It’s made of lightweight embroidered cotton (non-stretch) that’s fully lined, with an invisible back zipper and bottom slit. For those who are my pre-pregnancy size, Ann Taylor bottoms run a little big at the waist but the sash tie does help. And if you need tips on tying the perfect bow, I posted a tutorial on my Instagram under saved story highlights! Just make sure you have the latest version of IG (only works on mobile), and go to my profile then tap the peach circle labeled “how to.”
Measurements of skirt in 00 petite: 13” across the waist, 16.5” across the hips, 21″ length.
This eyelet sleeve top is an elevated take on the white tee, so you can style it as you would with that basic! It fits true to size, and the tee is a regular cotton tee fabric while the sleeves are a slightly thicker eyelet material. I also always recommend checking out AT shoes, including these block heeled sandals – I have the version from years ago and rarely go on a warm weather trip without them packed! For bow lovers, these knotted sandals come in a bold red suede or summery gingham with a mid 3″ heel.
Thank you to Ann Taylor for partnering on this post. Be sure to check out my Instagram (@jeanwang) this Sunday night for a special giveaway!
This skirt is so cute! I am loving Ann Taylor’s spring arrivals!
Very cute! Why does your ensemble look better than the model on AT??
I love that outfit.
What a cute skirt! Love the white and navy together.

I love a good pencil skirt and this one is so cute! I just adore your style. Thanks for sharing!
I love the top: it seems like a really comfortable one with easy maintenance (no ironing I hope…) and it looks fabulous. It is a top that would be perfect for so many outfits: classy and casual. The sleeve length is perfect for petites too. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a great spring week. Love, Lieske
As much as I think I’d love to wear this look, I also think my Mom would love it, too. Thanks for this post, Jean!

That skirt is great. Love the sassy tie! I haven’t done any spring shopping yet and I’m trying to figure out just what I need (okay, want) to buy for the warmer season (if it ever gets here since it’s snowing in NY right now). I’ve had my eye on Ann Taylor, but until this post, not much was drawing me in.
A beautiful and superbly elegant outfit with this pencil skirt!
Hey, gorgeous <3
