Spring Fit Reviews + Weekend Sales

whbm petites gucci soho disco bag spring fashion

BP sunglasses in rose gold, WHBM top c/o xxsp, Gucci soho bag,
J.Brand ankle jeans sz 24 (see bottom of post for this budget-friendly pair under $50)

It’s been a while since I’ve posted fitting room reviews! I’m sharing a few Spring try-ons below, plus two noteworthy sales going on this weekend. Bloomingdales is having a designer denim event (ending 3/19) with 15% off 1 qualifying pair or 25% off 2 or more pairs, no code needed. My two favorite wardrobe staple jeans are included: J.Brand’s high-rise cropped jeans in vanity, and the white ankle jeans in demented that I’m wearing here (Nordstrom is price matching). If you’re looking for dark blue denim, these Paige Verdugo cropped jeans are available starting in sz 23 with a promising shorter 26″ inseam.

spring fashion white jeans casual petite outfits

My Ann Taylor sandals here are out of stock, but I’ve found you guys some similar low-heeled, neutral options. These Steve Madden ones are very close and still available in sizes 5 and 5.5 (plus are on sale right now). Also I just saw these Sole Society Savannah sandals are back this year and available for pre-order starting in size 5! They sold out in a flash last year, and are dupes for a pair of my all-time favorite sandals (shown here).

Macy’s is having their VIP sale – take an extra 30% off almost all apparel & accessories with code VIP through 3/19. I have to point out these darling d’orsay scalloped pumps for anyone looking for “something blue” wedding shoes! They also look gorgeous in the other neutral colors and are under $50 with this sale. Also check out Macy’s petites department with pieces such as this London Fog trench coat (there’s one rave customer review, for size xxs petite!).

whbm nordstrom petite spring tops review

It’s no secret I’ve been loving flared sleeves for a while now, so am happy to see the trend still going strong! Above are two tops I tried on that may look the same, but are pretty different in-person. I first ordered the Pleione one, but returned it because the WHBM runs smaller and has more drama in the sleeves, which I like for a statement look. The material of the WHBM one is knit and stretchy but is hard to describe, as it’s a little boxy and structured with ridges. The Pleione top is better if you want something casual, as it feels like a thinner, soft tee shirt with slightly ruffled sleeves. I’m trying it on above in size xsp, and it’s now available starting in xxsp.

banana repubublic petite spring fashion fit flare dress review

Banana Republic laser-cut dress 00p (petites is priced lower than regular),
Steve Madden sandals 5.5 (lower-heeled option)

I didn’t keep this dress (also comes in black), but wanted to share my two cents because the reviews online are polarizing. It does run slim in the torso and fits me like a glove, with a figure-flattering silhouette. The laser-cut material has raw edges which I don’t love, but it doesn’t seem like a material that will fray. It’s lined with side pockets and an invisible back zipper. I think this bright coral color might be better suited for someone either fairer or darker-skinned than myself.

banana republic petites striped midi dress review

It’s interesting because Banana Republic knee-length and maxi dresses usually fit me nicely, but their midi dresses almost always hit me at an awkward length! I tried on the striped one above and this off-shoulder chambray dress, and both were longer than expected. The striped one is in a thicker, stretchy knit and fits nice and slim in the torso (and has pockets!), but I thought it would be cuter as a shorter dress.

casual off shoulder sweater h and m petite review

H&M; sweater, Soludos espadrilles sz 5, J.Brand cropped jeans sz 24

This slouchy H&M; sweater is very close, if not the same, as the one I got last year and wear off-the-shoulder. Unfortunately I couldn’t find this color online, but I believe this is the same sweater in other colors. It has a looser cut, with dolman-style sleeves and a stitched cuff.

loft petite spring white jeans olive pants review

Ann Taylor striped sweater (petitesregular) c/o xxsp,
LOFT white modern skinny jeans 24p, LOFT Marisa skinny ankle pants 00p

LOFT jeans are my go-to recommendation for affordable petite denim. These are under $50 right now, no code needed! I find their denim to be on the stiffer side with less stretch compared to my J.Brands, but you can’t really compare due to the price points (esp. during LOFT’s sales). The modern skinny jean is a nice & straightforward cut of skinny jeans, and they also make curvy with a bigger hip-to-waist ratio. Their white jeans are medium in weight, and more opaque compared to many other styles of white jeans I’ve tried. I also liked this utility green pair on the right, but can’t seem to find it online! The tag said Marisa skinny ankle and they fit fairly well, with a material that felt like a cross between chinos and jeans.

Hi there – I haven't seen anything new at J.Crew factory lately that caught my eye… Their sizing is pretty consistent with their regular store, though, if you have one of those near you!

I purchased that white Purl-knit Sweater from H&M; when you first featured it on your blog and it is my absolute favorite sweater in my closet. Today I ran to H&M; and bought it in grey and pink! Unfortunately I think they are bit thinner material than the white one, but they still fit perfect! Thanks for the heads up 🙂

They're super comfy, and I can only hope they continue the style with more colors in the coming seasons!
