Airport travel OOTD + the best holiday weekend sales

airport travel outfit tunic sweater leggings

Style & Co tunic xsp (similar), Zella midi leggings sz xxs, Bric’s suitcase

Happy Sunday! Just landed in San Francisco, my home away from home, and am indulging in all of the amazing & diverse food this city offers. I posted this simple look on Instagram and wanted to quickly answer some fit questions on each piece. This tunic sweater is on double sale right now and runs true to size – it’s the perfect length for covering up the crotch area, and I love that the sleeve length actually fits shorter arms! There is a small triangular piece of fabric lining the inside, behind the lace-up detail, which keeps your chest area completely covered up. You can cut this piece out if desired, as not much skin is bared even without it.

I wanted to get a second pair of Zella’s awesome live-in leggings, and saw this new “midi” length with a 24.5″ inseam. It hits right below the ankle for someone my height without alterations needed, and has the same flattering mid rise and reversible fabric as the original live-ins. Last but not least, I can’t get enough of these chestnut suede ankle booties. If you have narrow ankles and hate the feeling of them swishing around in gaping ankle openings, these boots fit slim across the top and are very leg-flattering as a result. The fit is true to size – I’m usually between 5 and 5.5, and found a 5 to fit best with thin socks on.

Express cable tunic xxs**, Topshop Jamie jeans sz 25×30 (no hemming needed!)

As promised, here are some other good sales going on this weekend!

Express – 40% off, prices as marked. Ends 11/13. Check out: asymmetrical cable tunic (good weight, heavier than my cocoon cardigan from there), my beloved gray ripped jeans. **I keep getting questions on if the tunic I linked above is actually the same one I’m wearing … yes, it is! The neckline is big enough to easily wear off one shoulder, which I think looks cuter and more interesting than how it looks in the stock photo. It is a longer tunic length which I have half-tucked into the front here.

Boden – 25% off and free shipping on orders over $49, with code 4Q4D. I love the preppy classic look of this British brand, but don’t own much from them as they don’t make much extended sizing in their petites collection. I do have their Rainy Day Mac jacket from years ago in a size 2p which is a little oversized, but I wear it often as I love how functional and comfortable it is (fleece lined!).

LOFT – 40% off with code. Check out: cowl neck tunic in petites with great reviews, funnel neck coat in a textured cream wool, flared flippy skirt, and denim legging jeans. Loft jeans are always one of my top recommendations for comfy & affordable petite denim.

Express hat, Gucci disco bag, Express + Style and Co tunic sweaters

Williams Sonoma – my favorite kitchen shop! Their Friends & Family is going on, so take 20% off most items site-wide and get free shipping w/ code FRIENDS (10% only off electronics, and select higher end brands like Le Creuset are excluded). Even without this additional sale, they do have the best pricing by far on Le Creuset classics compared to any reputable site I’ve found online, and the midnight navy or gray colored ones are on extra sale with another 20% off. I own a 5.5 quart dutch oven and just got the 3.5 quart exclusive white with gold knob one, and literally use these several times each week. The smaller one is perfect for cooking for 2, and the original larger size is great for families or if you want leftovers!

Ann Taylor – 40% off your purchase. Be sure to check out my Friday post with all my picks!

Macy’s – extra 20% off items with VETDAY or take $10 off orders $25+ with VET25 (both promos excludes specials, like my lace-up tunic). Check out: my tunic sweater in the first photo, petite-friendly comfy top layers like this Alfani petite poncho sweater (thinner and tightly knit; fits well on me in xsp), and Karen Scott poncho sweater (lighter in weight). Note these items are individually “specially-priced” for the holiday so don’t qualify for the additional coupon code.

Cute travel outfit! I always wear my cowgirl boots from the Farm and Home store ( http://www.familycenter.us/boots/ ) since they take up so much space in my suitcase. And they're comfortable!

hi jean – i saw this addressed on your insta but must'be missed your response. do you use both your rolling luggage and your weekender bag as carry on items? or do you check your suitcase? super cute style and love the travel look!

Hi Judy – how odd! I wonder if there was some inconsistency in their sizes. I don't have the sleeve cuffed and it doesn't feel too oversized on me, just slightly roomy like a regular tunic fit.

Hi Jean, I usually go up one size from your size for tops and they would be a good fit. So I was quite surprised when I got the Style & Co tunic in PXS and it looks huge on me! Do you have your sleeve cuffed in your photo? Still deciding whether to keep it or not.

Lol!! I was in a rush to write this post and go eat it. It's from Bob's donuts in San Francisco. My friends & I thought it was gimmicky and got it just for fun, but it ended up being delicious (along with their apple fritters … )

My inexpensive leggings wore super thin and got holes in them, so I decided to give these a try! I've only been wearing them since July-ish so only time will tell, but they are definitely a thicker leggings.

And the donut is a bit on the massive side ; )

Okay, two things. First, are Zella leggings really worth the price? I've been looking for some good leggings, but $50 seems like a lot.

Second, is that donut really that big or is it an optical illusion, because that thing looks like a monster!
