Spring flare & Sole Society reversible tote

Sole Society Milan tote & Danna wedges c/o, ASOS dress (altered, review), H&M; scarf

This is the most beautiful time of the year in Boston, but oh-so short lived so I’m relishing every moment! I wore this last week to brunch and explore in our new neighborhood (which ended abruptly with me plopping a chocolate ice cream cone on my chest while trying to photograph a pretty tree). I had picked up this dress months ago, while dreaming of spring in the midst of winter darkness. Hopefully anyone interested was able to get it back then, as most sizes are now sold out.
In an earlier post with Sole Society I had shared about their shoes that go down to sz 5. Aside from footwear they also have affordable bags like this reversible Milan tote. I first learned about this bag from fellow blogger Alyson and was of course intrigued by the reversible aspect. It comes in two color options (black to cream, or solid navy to navy stripes) with a detachable zipper pouch. I recently used this for a trip to Miami since it could serve as both a beach/shopping tote, or a leather-like bag for work.

The material on this tote is slightly pebbled faux leather on one side and canvas-like “railroad stripes” on the other. The black to cream has pebbled faux leather on both sides. In hindsight, that latter option is probably the most versatile since it offers two completely different color schemes versus two textures both in navy. The stripe fabric is casual, so I’d recommend the double faux leather if you’re looking mostly for a work tote.
The way the reversibility works, there are visible stitched seams that appear on one side of the tote but are folded in when in-versed. These seams are on the solid navy side for my version, and on the black side for the other color scheme. I just wanted to note this as the size of the tote visually changes a little depending on which side you’re using – the concealed edges side looks a few inches less wide (due to the edges being folded inwards).

Tote measurements: removable soft base insert is 14″ x 4.5″ wide, bag height 13.5″, strap drop 8,” 17″ across the top of bag when fully extended. This post is in collaboration with Sole Society.

I have some new reviews in the works, so stay tuned: ) Hope you each have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for the reply. I hope you let us know what happens to it after a few washings. My high-end double stretch custom neoprene wetsuit shrank after a few years. I thought it was post-pregnancy weight gain until I realized that it was also a little shorter than when I first got it.

Hmm..good question! I can't find wash instructions on the tag but I plan on hand washing cold like with Clover Canyon. I'm not sure if the scuba used in most fashion is as high-tech / durable as those in real scuba suits : )

You look fantastic in that yellow dress. After reading your review, I bought it but it is not suitable for busty sized women so I had to return it. I love the yellow on you!

I'm not seeing much neoprene on clothes in my neck of the woods yet (just a Zara dress here and there) but the way it holds shape when nicely tailored probably makes it a neat item to work with. Maybe there will be more stuff here in a few months. What is it like in terms of care and maintenance? I'm assuming hand washing is OK, otherwise scuba divers would never be able to get the salt water out of their wetsuits…

Love the detachable pouch – so cute! Also love your navy & yellow pairing – that H&M; scarf was a great choice – I remember it from many other posts – and it always looks so good! (I on the other hand have a scarf addiction and can't stop buying new scarves LOL!)
