L.K. Bennett Boston Event – Wednesday, May 21st

LKBennett Boston3

Stila heels & tulip dress (sz 2, altered throughout) thanks to L.K. Bennett
Burberry trench (sz 2, similar), AT tote

Bostonians, come join me next Wednesday, May 21st for drinks, small bites, and 20% off at L.K. Bennett‘s new boutique in Copley Place mall (RSVP here)! I’m also hosting a fun giveaway for attendees – upload a photo from inside the store to either Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #LKBoston for a chance to win a pair of their classic Sledge pumps (or shoes of your choice with equal or lesser value). Whether or not you’re looking for new shoes, please consider stopping by to say hello. There’s been several changes and new additions at this mall, so worth a visit if you haven’t shopped there lately.
LKBennett Boston2 I first heard of this London brand via colleagues and SAs alike who recommended the quality of their shoes. The company was founded with the goal to bridge the gap between comfort and “glam” footwear, by offering elegant but practical heels. I kept seeing the designs on the Duchess of Cambridge so was enticed to pop into a store while in the U.K…but like more often than not, I was told my size was online-only. The new Boston location however does stock extended sizing from sz 35 to 42. Each store chooses their own inventory, and the Boston manager emphasized not leaving out shoppers who need those special sizes (always appreciated!).
LKBennett Boston1I picked the Stila heel, a classic shape updated in fresh raspberry leather. The quality of the shoe was evident with soft leather uppers, lining, and soles, and were comfy for me with no breaking-in needed.
LKBennett BostonPlease let me know if you have any questions, and I look forward to seeing some of you next Wednesday! Location is on the 1st level of the mall next to BCBG (directly under Banana Republic) and across from Barneys. Closest public transit is Copley Station on the green line or Back Bay on the orange line. If you are able to stop by, please RSVP via Eventbrite so we can plan accordingly : )LKB invite

Thank you! I got it at the local Boston store and for some reason couldn't find a link on the U.S. site (could be from past season). My ring is being re-sized : )

Hi there – I think I have the same foot size as you as I wear those sizes in the brands you mentioned. A 35 worked perfectly in these. If you're not sure, I'd suggest ordering from Nordstrom since they have free shipping & returns in case the sizing doesn't work out for you!

I have a question about sizing of LK Bennett shoes. I want to purchase a pair online but am not sure which size to go with. I usually wear size 5 in AT, but in J crew, I am between a 5 and 5 1/2. I am trying to decided between 35 1/2 or 35 in LK Bennett pumps, any advice? Thanks!

Hi pumpkinmommy : ) I don't do DIY work anymore sadly due to both time and the quality of my own work (not the best!). For this dress my tailor did the following: 1) took up the shoulders, which is the most common alteration I do for regular-size garments which also prevents having to mess with the waistline 2) hem length and 3) slimmed along both sides marginally. Their size 2 runs smaller and feels more similar to sz 0 in the US (seems to be typical of many European brands) and did not need much done width-wise.

dress looks great and it is a"big" print so the experts would say not good for

So cute! You say the dress was altered throughout. I see a waist seam, which ups the alteration difficulty quite a bit. (I also see waist darts on both the bodice and the skirt of the dress, which is probably at least part of where the taking in took place.) Is it DIY work or professional work?
