Happy Friday! A&F just kicked off a sale with at least 15% off almost everything, plus they gave me code AFJEAN for a stackable extra 15% off. When checking out their fall arrivals I was drawn to the chunky textured knits, and was so excited to see my favorite cropped jacket in a few new colors and materials!
The discount this weekend is higher on hoodies & sweatshirts, so also check out their Sunday half zip pullovers – a staple in my weekend casual wardrobe.
Petite Coats
Coats have just arrived and they have several options starting in petite xxs sizes, including this straighter fit Tailored coat and this belted stand collar coat.
Cropped Jackets
If you’ve followed EP for a while, you know these type of jackets have been a core part of my style for the past 15 years, so I love that they’ve had a resurgence! I’ve tried many similar styles, and the shorter petite-friendly body length of the A&F option is very hard to find elsewhere. It’s short enough to still show a little waistline on me, and the only adjustment I make is folding the sleeves under. With the stackable code, some colors are now around $100 and a great value IMO.
I’ve paired my black version with everything from jeans to trousers and included it as part of my fall capsule wardrobe. I’ve tried both the new black and white tweed and the navy blue (priced lower) as well, and think they’re great alternatives!
I also saw the wool-blend version in person – the smooth, light neutral colors are gorgeous and the fabric is a thicker outdoor jacket weight, but small sizes sadly went quickly.
Cable Knit Pullover Sweater (8 colors)
I gave this a try after reading several reviews about the length being cropped on taller customers. It’s an oversized, wide-cut loose style that feels balanced by the shorter petite-friendly length. The length hits a few inches past my natural waist, and the knit feels quite soft and cozy. I wonder if the fabrics differ by color, since a review mentioned the sweater being thin but I would consider this grey one at least medium weight.
Cable Knit Cardigan
This cardigan version has a similar feel, thickness and cozy factor as the pullover sweater above, and the cut is on-trend with an oversized wide fit with a shorter length. The Brown is a beautiful shade of taupe brown that I tend to reach for a lot in my Fall/Winter wardrobe.
Skorts
The simple black mini has made a huge comeback this Fall, and I’ve been loving my black mini from Nastygal paired with sneakers to ballet flats to loafers. I just got to try on this new, fully stocked version from A&F which is very petite friendly and fitted on me in xxs. It has a unique added feature of built-in silky shorts for added coverage, and unlike a traditional skort where the shorts are visible in the backside view, this looks like a skirt from the outside all-around, and the shorts are fully hidden underneath!
Sloane Pants
I’ve featured this style dozens of times over the past year since they offer such a wide range of sizing, inseam and colors options – recent new fabrics include the lightweight Sloane and a brushed fabric.
Sizing wise, my waist measures 25″ and I’m usually between a size 24 Short and 25 Short in their pants. In general I’ve found their size 24 to be suited for a 24-25″ waist and fits snugly on me, while their size 25 seems suited for a 25-26″ waist and fits a little loose on me. Here I opted to size up, and am wearing the 25 Short for a looser fit.
Is the EP belt you are wearing the regular or mini belt?
Hi Mel, I’m wearing the mini belt in these photos!
Hi Jean – you look great as always! Love the trouser looks you have been wearing recently. What is c/o in your captions?
Thank you Tara! c/o means “care of” and indicates a piece was gifted to me by the brand for press purposes
I’m having difficulty with your links, they won’t open. This is new, they opened previously
Hi Ruth, thanks so much for letting me know! I’m not sure what the issue may be as I’ve double checked the links and everything on my end seems to be working normally. The only thing I can think to recommend would be possibly trying a different browser? So sorry it’s giving you trouble!
The code AFJEAN isn’t working, it says “Sorry, either the merchandise you have selected is not eligible for this promotion, you must be logged in to redeem the promotion or the merchandise total does not reach the required promotion amount. Please see promotion details.”
I got the same error unfortunately 🙁
It worked for me.
I’m sorry to hear this! Myself and a few others have tested out the code and it’s been working normally, are you by chance located internationally? I believe the code is only eligible in the US and Canada. There are also a few categories that are excluded from the discount like cashmere, leather and suede
