Bag: Modern Picnic mini bag (JEAN20 for 20% off; review below)
Sunglasses: Saint Laurent (also sold here)
Earrings: Sézane earrings c/o

So many of you loved the colorful Farm Rio pieces I reviewed earlier this season, I was excited to find another stunning piece that fit perfectly off the rack this time! I wore this last weekend with my Schutz platforms for my friend’s wedding rehearsal event, and then again with flats for a Mother’s Day outing with my mom and the kids.

Farm Rio Eyelet Dress

I bought this thinking I’ll probably need to shorten the straps (since it’s in regular sizing), but was pleasantly surprised at how well everything fit with no adjustments! It hits ankle length on me with flats on, and is also gorgeous for dressier events. This dress is also available in white here!

One of my favorite details are the fabric “bead” straps that are soft and comfortable against the skin. The torso is fitted on me in size XXS (fits like a 00) with minimal stretch and a back zipper closure. The entire dress is eyelet lace with a half slip skirt underneath. I go either bra-less or with my usual nippies in this dress.

Measurements of XXS when lying flat: 14.75″ across bust, 12.25″ across waist, 17″ across hips, 12.5″ from straps to waistline and 48.5″ total length.

On me: SD Hat Co. hat. Also sold here and here – I switch the sash for different outfits!
On Rio: Little Planet organic cotton stripe set 3T, Native sandals
On Nori: Edited Pieces dress 4T, Amazon hat (for adults), jelly shoes

I was shopping for a good quality linen-like summer set for Rio and am super happy with this one! The quality is great and the fabric is very soft for little ones, and looks cuter in person than pictured above. It looks big on Rio since I sized up, but the set runs TTS. The sandals are a hand-me-down from big sis and are awesome – very lightweight, water-friendly, and both straps are adjustable. We have them in several sizes and colors!

Nori’s dress is part of our Edited Pieces mommy and me dresses that are back this summer – see this older blog post for detailed info on the dresses. Her jelly sandals are also a favorite from last year and are lightweight and easy to snap on. One of the very few neutral pieces I got her that she actually loves!

I also wanted to mention this chic little bag from a new-to-me brand, Modern Picnic. Aesthetically, the look is just what I was looking for in a summer handbag, but as a bonus, it’s designed as a lunch bag so is doubly functional with an insulated, easy-to-wipe-clean interior plus utensil pockets.

The mini size (more colors here) works well for me as an everyday summer bag and is convenient to keep the kids’ fruit and a canned drink cool, if needed. I love that it can be hand carried or worn crossbody with the adjustable and removable shoulder strap.

Any tricks for shortening the strap on this dress? Tempted to buy it since I saw your IG post that it’s on sale, but know that those straps won’t work for my short shoulder to bust length. Thanks!

Yes I had entirely planned on just sewing down one of the fabric “bobbles” when I ordered my dress because straps are always long on me. Surprisingly I didn’t end up having to alter this dress at all, but if needed, you could just tuck in 1 or 2 of the bobbles and hand stitch it down to shorten the strap.

Oh wow this shade of blue and the eyelet detail are stunning!! And so great that you didn’t need to adjust the straps, I’ve been having a few misses with dresses lately bc of long straps/long torso. Love it!

Is this a sponsored or in any way incentivized post? I have loved your blog for YEARS, but it’s become really hard to tell what’s fully materially unmotivated because your posts do not include the required disclosures. As a regular consumer who never gets free things/sponsorships and buys everything with my own money, those disclosures are critical when I’m deciding on purchases. I’m pretty sure you have relationships with Madewell, Sezane, and Abercrombie (likely among others) and get sent PR, but I seldom see that clearly and prominently reflected. I really hope you will take this feedback to heart and take proper steps not only to comply with FTC requirements but also out of consideration for those of us who have followed you for years, bought from Edited Pieces, used your codes and affiliate links, etc. (I also don’t see affiliate links notated ever…)

Hi Hannah, I appreciate your thoughtful feedback!

Everything in this post was purchased with my own money, except the Sezane earrings. They were tagged as c/o in all prior posts but I missed the tag this time and just added! On Instagram I did a sponsored IG post with Saks (disclosed as partnered) wearing this same outfit, which I know can cause confusion.

Many of my partnerships now are like this one where it is for 1 sponsored Instagram post, not blog, and the retailer encourages wearing items that I already own / have purchased myself and doesn’t do gifting. I chose to write this unsponsored blog post to share more details and photos.

Any sponsored blog post on here will always be disclosed. Based on prior feedback I added a “collaboration” tag as well that’s visible from the homepage, so readers can see the disclosure before they choose to click the post.

For brands like Madewell, Ann Taylor, and Abercrombie, I partner with them only on an Instagram-only basis, but I sometimes decide to do a non-sponsored post on the blog reviewing the items in more detail. The blog posts I do contain a mix of PR and self purchased items and you can see PR disclosed as “c/o” in posts like this

Regarding affiliate links, any brand I feature -if it is affiliate linkable- uses affiliate links on this blog. I will def take your feedback into consideration and add a prominent affiliate disclosure to the homepage sidebar. Affiliate links and the support of longtime readers are what makes this blog possible to continue running, so again I appreciate your feedback!
