I know many of us are not going into physical offices these days, but I’ve found that getting dressed in polished pieces once in a while helps me get in a much more productive mindset. Ann Taylor has been a longtime favorite on here, and I recently picked out a few coordinating separates comfortable for working-from-home (read: stretch pants that feel like leggings, relaxed fit chunky knit), and can also be further dressed down for everyday wear or up for if you find yourself back in an office.
These flattering ankle pants have a good amount of 4-way stretch, and are comfortable for long periods of sitting. The fabric is on the thicker side and feel like a durable stretch ponte, making them appear more tailored than leggings and suitable for pairing with a blouse and blazer for a more formal look. They come in more neutral colors but if you don’t mind some color, the “shadow leaf” in Ann Taylor’s current collection is a gorgeous elegant deep teal. The coordinating sweater is a thicker, chunky knit which I sized up on to get a slightly looser fit (one size up on me is relaxed but not oversized).
These pants are a great length & fit on me post-baby, but for those similar to my pre-pregnancy size, note I usually found Ann Taylor bottoms to fit loose at the waist. These pants in size 00 Petite measure 12.5″ across the waist, 10″ rise, and have a 25″ inseam when lying flat and un-stretched. Another great pair of work-from-home pants by AT are these easy ankle pants in camel. They have a tailored flat front and elasticized back for easy on and off, and the material feels good quality.
My beloved Azra suede pumps are back in two rich brown tones and a snake print! These are my favorite “classic with a small twist pumps” featuring a sculpted deep V cut on both sides and sleek pointed toe.
I also tried on this Equestrian print midi slip skirt, which has a smooth, silky feel and elegant scarf print. The fabric feels fairy wrinkle resistant like a reviewer also mentioned. Note the colors are navy (not black) and brown tones, and I feel like the waist on this one runs big. Size 00 Petite measures 13″ across the waist (non stretch). The same print also comes in a satiny headband!
Thank you to Ann Taylor for partnering on this post.
Hi Jean. So in the first photo you’re wearing the xsp in the mock sweater, and the following photos ist xxsp?
Ahh I made a typo in the second outfit box – thanks for pointing that out! It’s the same sweater in xs petite in all the photos.
Monochrome was all the rage of yesterday’s inauguration ceremony! Looking radiant and on point!
Oh my goodness I was so delighted by all the monochrome outfits! All bold yet tastefully done.
Obssessed with the jewel tone green! and this outfit <3
Thanks Kat! Definitely one of my favorite colors
Looking radiant, Jean! I’ve always thought you can wear green really, really well! 🙂
Thank you so much! I think green is one of those universally flattering colors, especially in a jewel tone like emerald or teal!
Loooove this outfit, Jean!!!!
Thank you, Fernanda! xx
Love the looks on you, especially the sailor ankle pants you are wearing. I bought the version that has a more flared leg last spring when you modeled it and love it. Thanks for sharing work looks since some of us have been commuting into the office.
Thank you, Linna! I remember those pants and am so glad you love them.
