petite pull on pants review

LOFT pull on pants xxs petite (waist runs big), cropped cardigan xxs P, Marc Fisher pumps 5 (runs a bit narrow; go up 1/2 if between sizes)

Hello friends ~ I’m partnering with LOFT to share some affordable finds (all available in both petite & regular) that can easily be dressed up or down! I highlighted a few that are comfortable and low-maintenance enough to wear these days while at home, yet can transition right into business casual for wearing later at an office. LOFT is currently having 60% off 4 or more full-priced items, 50% off 3 full-priced items, or 40% off everything + free ship on orders $25 with code TREAT! (Ends 4/11)

1. PULL ON PANTS (3 colors)

Farewell non-breathable waistlines and button flys, pull on pants are pretty much all I’m living in these days. These in particular have the comfort of sweatpants but look more refined. They’re stretchy, medium weight (unlined), and made of a fabric with a smooth crepe-like finish, so can be styled to look more professional than jersey pants. I love the wider cut and length (works with flats or barefoot) but note LOFT pants tend to run big around the waist. Their denim, on the other hand, fits smaller than their pants and more TTS.

Size XXS petite measures: 13.5“ across the waist, 8.75“ rise, and 23.5“ inseam when lying flat.

I also tried on these similar ponte pull on pants (2 colors) which feature a slightly different material and lower rise. The ponte pants have a jersey-like knit finish (compared to crepe-like on the pair listed above), and both pairs have a wide elasticized covered waistband and faux back pockets. Size XXS petite in the ponte pull on pants measures: 13.5″ across the waist, 7.75″ rise, 23″ inseam.

2. CROPPED CARDIGAN (3 colors)

Cute little cardigan that isn’t too cropped, with enough length to easily half tuck into mid or high rise bottoms. This is lighter in weight with ribbing, a relaxed cut, and subtle puff shoulders for a feminine touch. Fit is TTS.

3. TIE WAIST JUMPSUIT

This is a simple, and again comfortable piece with great reviews that can be dressed up or down. The light-medium weight fabric is smooth, fluid, cool and comfortable to the touch, plus has stretch to it. The slightly cropped length means petite ladies can wear it casually with flat sandals or mules. The belt is attached at both sides and only goes halfway around, which is nice so you don’t have to untie and re-tie the sash each time you use the restroom! Similar to LOFT pants this runs roomier at the waist, but tying the attached belt creates waist definition. 00 Petite measures 13″ across the waist with a 24″ inseam.

4. CROPPED JEANS

These are a great staple pair of mid-rise jeans that are actually a true cropped length on petite ladies. The denim fabric has a good weight to it with stretch, and the color is a true, classic dark indigo with minimal fading / whiskering. LOFT jeans fit TTS in my opinion and do not run as big as their pants or skirts. After gaining a little weight from before, I’ve been a consistent size 25 these days in most denim. Measurements of Size 25 petite in this pair: 12.75″ across the waist, 8.75″ rise, and 23.5″ inseam.

5. CIRCLE CARDIGAN (5 colors)

Very lightweight (semi sheer), linen-like cardigan in a circle silhouette that’s more visible from the side view. Fit is TTS and the silhouette is more relaxed in the torso with slimmer sleeves.

6. BALLET MULES

I thought these were very flattering with the almond toe and dip in the front, but because of the more minimal coverage, these might be hard to keep on your feet when on the go!

7. FLORAL MIDI SKIRT

Lightweight floral skirt in vibrant sprint colors, elevated with a modest side slit. This is unlined with no stretch, and again, the waist runs a little big in my opinion but is consistently sized for skirts and pants by LOFT. Size 00 petite measures 13“ across the waist.

Ruffle dress xxs P, woven sandals 5.5 (run a bit narrow)

8. WOVEN SANDALS

Loved these! Nice affordable option for a lightweight, slip-on woven leather sandal with some cushioning at the insoles for comfort. These run narrow in my opinion, and a size 5 was a little too narrow across the straps for me to get my feet fully in, so I’ll be trying half a size up.

9. RUFFLE DRESS

Fluidly draping, comfortable dress with a stretchy elastic surplice-style waist. Fit is TTS with a midi length that hits about 2 inches below my knees. You can swap the sash belt out for a leather or woven belt for some more waist definition.

10. WHITE DENIM JACKET

Not pictured here, but LOFT consistently has a good staple white denim jacket each year in both petite and regular sizing. I tried on this year’s version and the fit is TTS, with a slightly cropped length on petite ladies and a slender fit throughout the sleeves.

Now that loft is gone, any suggestions for jeans? The skinny petite jeans were a perfect fit for me.

    Hi,
Love reading your blog since I am also 5feet tall.
Is there anywhere on your site that shows your body measurements??
Some things I buy as a petite will fit me and some wont and just wanted to compare so that I dont have to buy many different sizes to try to find the right size.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
Love your blog! I love the strappy cami, but what did you mean by doubled layered? I wouldn’t’ want it if its too sheer

HI! It means there are two layers to it (so it’s lined)

The green pull-on pants look lovely on you! I am similar in size to you – does the XXS fit you? The measurement sounds larger than a size 25. Thanks!

Hi Lil – they definitely run big. Because I’ve gain some weight and wear them casually around the house I’m okay with them being a little loose (might take in the waist) but measurements wise yes they’re larger than the 25 denim!

I love the blue ruffle dress on you! I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant — would you say this is a “bump-friendly” piece? I’m wanting to add more dresses to my wardrobe since I’m due in mid-August but also want pieces I’ll be able to wear after baby, instead of investing in too many maternity pieces.

Hi Elsa, congratulations! The ruffle dress is definitely bump-friendly, it has a fully elastic waist which you could pull up to sit above the bump.

Hi Jean- I love the sandals and would love to purchase a pair for the spring/summer strolls and errands and just going out (if the shelter in place ever gets lifted). Would you please keep us updated on the quality/comfort level. Thank you!

I thought I’d already purchased that same cardigan from Loft but realized it was from another of your posts from Abercrombie and Fitch. It fits quite loose, so I ordered this one from Loft and it’ll probably fit nicer. Although I do like the one from A&F. Also, I realized I don’t have a pair of these slim fit jeans from Loft so I ordered a pair of those as well. Thanks, as always, for the tips.

Hi Val, so good to hear from you! If you found the A&F cardigan too casual of a fit then you’ll like this LOFT one, it’s a great piece for spring. I hope you and your family are doing well during these uncertain times. x Jean
