I’m partnering with Sephora today to share exciting new hydrating products from two of my longtime favorite brands, Fresh and Tatcha! After Nori was born, I admit my beauty regimen fell a bit to the wayside. But as a tired mama, skincare is all the more important when starting and ending each day. One step I try never to skip is hydrating my face and neck using a quality product. I have a few favorite hydrating products in rotation that I change up based on our weather and humidity, and how my skin is feeling at the moment.
Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask
For self pampering at home, Fresh has been one of my go-tos. They actually started out as a little apothecary shop in Boston! I often travel with their gentle soy face wash and have gone though many of their face masks (this is such a great little set – I’ve used and enjoyed all 3 for different purposes!).
If you’re a fan of other products in Fresh’s rose skincare collection, you will love their new Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask which I’ve been using a few times a week in lieu of regular moisturizer at night. This is a 2 layer treatment that’s applied before bed, and has a soothing light rose fragrance. The more translucent half of this mask is a hydrating gel essence that’s cool to the touch (will feel amazing in warm weather!), made with rose water, rose essence and hyaluronic acid. I apply this first and let it absorb for a few seconds, before sealing it in with the silky water-cream from the other half. Together, this mask works overnight and leaves me with plump, moisturized skin in the morning despite our dry Boston weather! Unlike some overnight masks, it does not leave residue that you have to worry about getting on your pillowcase or having to rinse off.
TATCHA THE DEWY SKIN CREAM
I was introduced to Tatcha about 5 years ago, and fell in love with the brand again during pregnancy. Their products are wonderfully gentle on sensitive skin, and their ingredients list earns them a CLEAN label at Sephora. If you’re not familiar with the Tatcha, they combine age-old Japanese skincare traditions with modern day science in formulating their products, utilizing a lot of natural anti-aging ingredients like green tea, algae, and botanical extracts. As mentioned in my hospital bag packing post, their Gold Camellia Beauty Oil even came with me as a quick way to “indulge” my skin during that hectic time!
If you have dry skin like myself, Tatcha’s new The Dewy Skin Cream is a luxurious, rich moisturizer and will likely become another cult favorite. It’s made with Japanese purple rice which is packed with antioxidants for healthy-looking skin, along with the brand’s signature algae blend and hyaluronic acid to keep skin soft and hydrated. The texture is creamy, yet applies smoothly leaving just a soft, dewy finish. I scoop a pearl sized amount using the attached little gold spoon, and apply to my face, neck, and upper chest area (don’t forget these areas beyond the face!). I use this right after washing my face, then do my hair and get dressed before putting on makeup.
Thank you to Sephora for partnering on this post.
Hi! Where’s your cosmetic bag from? Love it
I noticed you have a Tarte blush and was wondering which one you use for a natural look?
Hi Tiffany, they’re from TDE. I have a few purses from there too and absolutely love their items.
I love the cosmetic cases, would you mind sharing what brand they’re from or where you got them.
Wow, I didn’t know Fresh started out in Boston. How cool is that? I like their soy cleanser but thought the mask was just okay. Maybe I didn’t use it right. I don’t remember there being two parts. I passed on the Tatcha moisturizer because it contains dimethicone, but mind meld! I just did a review post of five Sephora moisturizers.
Thanks so much for the recommendations Jen!
An overnight mask sounds like just what I need right now! I love rose skincare products – I’m definitely going to check out the deep hydration sleep mask! My skin is quite dry at the moment so the Tatcha cream will probably work for me too. 🙂
P.S: I love that grey robe!

Hi Theresa, I always heard from friends that they like Tatcha’s original moisturizer (in the teal packaging) for naturally oily skin! I asked the company as well and they confirmed that is suggested for oily or combo skin. As with Fresh, have you tried their Umbrian Clay Mask
/ cleanser? I apply it on thinly as a cleanser or thicker as a mask that you leave on for 10 minutes before washing off (I do this 10 min before jumping into the shower). I read that it was recommended for acne prone and oily skin.
Thanks so much, I’ll check into those! I’m a Sephora fan so I’ll add those to the list for my next trip. 🙂
I’m always looking for something in a skin care line especially for dry skin. Now that I’ve moved to Idaho, the high desert, it’s really quite dry. So I bought the Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask. The set you showed is Sold Out, so I’ll just try the nighttime mask for now. I’ll let you know how I like it. Thank you for the recommendation Jean. Love, Val
Hi Val, I hope you love it! I don’t typically use fragranced products but their rose products are really lovely and I like the added cooling gel component of this 2 part mask. Thanks for letting me know about the Fresh kit selling out, I just saw they have a new limited edition mask set which I’ll update! (those are different from the one you bought because their regular masks must be rinsed off, whereas their sleeping mask is left on and works overnight : )
Can you recommend any products from either brand that would work great for oily skin? We’re trying to conceive so I’ve stopped using birth control, and my naturally oily, acne-prone skin is working overtime to make my life harder! 🙂
Hi Jean, Thank you for such a great post! I have both of those products on my Sephora Love’s list to try. Where is your robe and the gray blanket from? The robe looks really pretty and the blanket looks super cozy.
Hi Meghan! I’m not sure where the blanket is from unfortunately but the robe is from Amazon (linked on my favorites page) FYI it arrived wrinkled in the package and needed a steaming to smooth out. But I love the features like pockets and a sash that’s attached to the back so that it’s hard to lose!
Hi Jean! Thank you for getting back to me! I just have to decide on a color now….
I really do appreciate your blog and the tremendous work you put into it. I check it frequently and I have purchased several things you have featured. Thank you.
Thanks for making this post! I was hoping you would after I saw your last insta post!
I’m a big fan of the original rose mask from fresh and the tatcha water cream (it’s already a humid Houston summer) but now I’m excited to try the dewy cream later this year when it gets drier!
Hi! I also love their original rose mask – have you tried the black tea one? It might be my favorite after trying almost all of their options! My friend from Houston actually got me hooked on it : )
And oh the Houston humidity is no joke. We were just visiting and I wasn’t prepared for it this early in May. Great to know about the Tatcha water cream – I was just about to suggest it to Theresa below since I heard it’s better suited for naturally oily skin!
