Linen Layers // Olive jeans + low block heeled pumps

olive jeans long cardigan petite fashion clothing

Sole Society Katarina pumps sz 5 (back in stock!) c/o, Sole Society scarf c/o, similar shorter Halogen cardigan xxs petite (also worn here), H&M petite jeans sz 4 (fits like a 24-25), BR cami xxs petite (older ivory color)

I hope some of you got to enjoy a few days of unseasonably warm weather! I’ve been loving olive as a transitional color – it goes equally well with black for winter, as it does with soft hues like light beige.

I’m excited to partner with Sole Society again and share that one of my favorite shoe styles from prior years is back! The Katarina suede pumps are a flattering, comfortable style that’s walking-friendly (heel is under 2 inches). You can see them on me against bare legs in this post and in this post (photos # 3 and 4).

The stacked low block heels on these are a stable alternative to skinny high heels, and the pointed toe shape is visually lengthening. Fit is true to size (I take my usual sz 5), although the front toe area runs on the narrow side, so perhaps try half size up if you have wider feet. This year’s colors include light camel, a sunny yellow, and a light blue.

For those of you who asked about these skinny jeans, the fit of a sz 2 petite is consistent with a snug size 24 in other denim brands. I sized up for some extra room, and found the sz 4 petite to fit in between a standard 24 to 25. Measurements of sz 4 petite: 26.5″ inseam, 8″ mid rise, 13″ across the waist, 16″ across the hips, and 4.75″ across the ankle opening.

I just got the SOLE SOCIETY KATARINA PUMPS in tan and black! Do the shoes stain easily ( water stain)? And if so how do you get rid of it!

Hi Kristina – mine have held up well but I’m pretty careful with my suede shoes. The black should be much more resistant than the lighter tan. I’d recommend spraying with water/stain proof suede and leather protector if you’re worried! You can find sprays like that by Cadillac or Apple brand on Amazon.

I love this outfit! And I’ll be checking out the H&M jeans pronto, as I need something for this transitional season when we have everything from snow to crocuses. What breaks my heart is that Sole Society no longer carries anything in size 4.5. Can you relay a plea to these folks that they reinstate the smaller sizes they used to carry? I’d buy the ones you’re showing in a flash!

Very cool post! I feel like I’m too short for pointed-toe flats, but maybe having a low-block heel would be better for me. Thanks Jean!

Hi Jean. Super shoes. Very apt for teachers too, because of the low heel. I am always looking for outfits that are stylish and comfortable for my work and this whole outfit would be a perfect choice. Thanks for the inspiration. Love, Lieske

I love the neutral tones in this outfit! I’ve been eyeing those shoes since I saw them in a previous post. So glad they have them back in stock. Are you wearing the taupe or light camel colour? Congratulations to both you and your husband!!

Hi Kathy – Sole Society sent me the new light camel to feature in these photos. In my older blog posts from last year, I’m wearing the taupe which I had purchased. The two colors look similar but the light camel is a touch lighter.

I was just eyeing Paige Denim’s Verdugo Ankle Petite in Sahara Green, but these H&M jeans are a steal by comparison! Thanks for saving me $150!

Hi Susan- I actually have the Paige ankle jeans in green from a few years ago and really like them! I cannot fit into them anymore, but the few pair of Paige jeans I do have last me years of wash and year. I was pretty impressed by the H&M option for the price point but the fabric isn’t as soft and stretchy as some Paige styles. Let me know how you like ’em if you end up getting them!
