Scallop camisole + Cap toe pumps

cap toe two tone pumps fall chanel style outfit

Happy long weekend for those of you lucky enough to get Monday off! I’m currently in New Hampshire with family that’s visiting from China. Of course they wanted to see Fall foliage, but Boston leaves are not quite turning yet so we decided to head up north. Before heading out for a day of hiking tomorrow (wish me luck), I wanted to leave you guys with some of the best Columbus Day sales, below!

the daily edited box bag marc cross purse look for less

The deal: 25% off your full-priced purchase and free shipping on orders over $175 (no code needed), ends 10/9. **UPDATE – use code 40OCT for 40% off 1 full-priced item! Cannot be stacked with other discounts**
My picks: My duster cardigan in this blog post (see it on me again here), and more exciting, my cap-toe pumps!! They’re a good dupe for the timeless Chanel slingbacks, and can easily be styled for work or casual wear. My size had sold out quickly earlier this season, but Talbots just restocked. It’s surprisingly hard to find a classic pair of two-toned pumps, so snag these while you can! They are nice quality and run slightly on the narrow side – I’m usually between 5 and 5.5 and take the latter in Talbots shoes. The camel is a little darker than my photos show.

The deal: tons of sale prices on items plus an extra 20% off + free shipping and returns. Ends 10/9.
My picks: Definitely check out my big poncho sweater roundup post and my petite jumpsuit review, as all of those pieces are now on sale!

The deal: Discounts off everything with code FALLFAST, ends 10/10.
My picks: Can’t get enough of bow-tie sleeves lately! Some of you might’ve seen this bow cuff blouse on my IG stories – it’s a great basic drapey blouse with a little extra something. Note you’ll have to tie the bows pretty tight (maybe even double-tied) so they don’t fall out. I also tried on this sweater below, which has similar sleeve detailing. It’s 95% wool, 5% cashmere so is a little itchy against bare skin, but I have AT sweaters from the past in the same composition which soften up with wash & wear. The tunic length is long enough to cover the crotch when paired with leggings!

This is a thick and warm “coatigan” sweater jacket, with convenient side seam pockets. Fit is slightly oversized and the sleeves are a little long on me, even in petite. You can’t tell in the above photo, but there’s a beige color lining the inner of the shawl collar.

The deal: 40% off (no code needed), ends 10/9.
My picks: knits knits knits! A lot of their current knits are oversized, but if you go online, you can find extended sizing such as xxs regular or petites sizing (see my recent Express petites blog post). One oversized piece that I really loved was this slouchy balloon sleeve sweater (below left) in a cozy chenille knit! The slightly shorter length is great for half-tucking into higher waisted bottoms. Will be ordering the xxs online.

Express chenille balloon sleeve sweater XS (left), Shaker knit cardigan XS (oversized fit) BP flats sz 5 (current version – I’d go up half a size)

The deal: 30% off, ends 10/9.
My picks: This doesn’t really count as a pick because I just realized cashmere is excluded, but I wanted to point out the slouchy V-neck sweater on the below right! I tried on regular XS in store, and although I liked the soft 100% cashmere and casual chic cut, I thought the fit was much too roomy. Thankfully it comes in up to two sizes smaller online (down to an xxx-small … dang, J.Crew and its vanity sizing), so keep this one in mind during a future sale when it’s not excluded!

The deal: 40% off full-priced items and extra 60% off sale items with code FALLFEST, ends 10/10.

The deal: 25% off for Friends & Family (discounted prices as marked for eligible items), ends 10/8.

Hi Jean, I’m currently in search of some belts. I love how you pair the Hermes with your outfits. What is the width of your belt? They look like either the small 0.95″, or the medium 1.25″. Thanks for your help.

Hi Kate! It’s the Constance style and it’s about an inch wide. Size-wise, I am about a 65 to 70 in Hermes but if you buy your belt at the store, they will cut it down to size to custom fit you regardless of whatever size you buy.

I’ve been obsessed about the Sam Edelman Leah pumps because they look like dead ringers for the Chanel slingbacks but they’re sold out of my size. I thought about the Talbots version but the heel looks too high for me. Thoughts? I ended up ordering the Steven by Steve Madden Joy pumps because of the lower block heel.

Yes … I had been stalking the Sam Edelman ones but they never got restocked in small sizes! And funny, I’ve also been looking at the Joy ever since they came out but could never find any store that had my size in stock. I hope the Joy end up working out for you! The heel on that one definitely looks lower than the Talbots.
