Park City Style // Olive Parka + Wedge Winter Boots

what to wear in park city sundance faux fur parka coat

Hello from snowy Park City, Utah! Wanted to share some quick photos of this affordable coat mentioned in my last post before sizes are all sold out. I tried on my usual size and had to order a size up. It runs slim in the torso and the waist gathering is on the higher side (good news for petites!) for a jacket in regular sizing. I also like the warm knit cuffs by the hands and the matching faux fur trim on the removable hood! Here are two other winter coats by the same brand which are still available in xxs and are an extra 50% off right now: long down puffer coat and shorter hooded parka.

Now about my latest most favorite find … these wedge booties! I was looking for fairly functional waterproof shoes that still have a little height, and these fit the bill plus are so cute with the faux fur lining and contrasting laces. I tried on all three colors and would recommend any of them! The wedge is low so these feel almost like flats for me, but it’s enough to just give a little boost.

The black paired with black skinny bottoms makes legs look so long, and FYI the brown one is a medium tan color in-person without the reddish tones like on the website. These were lightweight and comfy for me right off the bat, and getting them on/off is quick with the interior side zipper. I suggest sizing up (especially to accommodate winter socks), as they run on the narrow side and are lined throughout with the faux fur material. I’m usually between 5 and 5.5 in most shoes – I took a sz 5.5 here and probably could’ve gone up to a 6. These are sold at several stores but it looks like Amazon and Nordstrom Rack have the best prices right now. Amazon pricing changes with stock and seems pretty random, with a few select sizes / color combos marked down lower than the others. (UPDATE: Sperry’s own site now have these marked down with all sizes in stock! Note the black is matte / sueded and not shiny like that picture shows).

So many stores are having good winter coat sales – I’m working on a big roundup for you guys with fitting room photos of the other ones I tried on and would recommend. Hope you guys have an amazing rest of the weekend, and stay warm!

  9. Jean, Are you planning to review some of Express's new petite line? I'm curious if you've had any experience with sizing and fit of some of their classic pieces in the petite sizing (columnist pant, portofino shirt, etc.).

  16. I wear leggings under my jeans when it gets extra cold! I've worn these under jeans without feeling like it was too tight:

Some of the reviews say they aren't warm, but it sounds like those people wear it by itself, which I wouldn't recommend! Around the house, sure, but it's pretty transparent…

Hi Lorraine, that's a really good point! I just looked closer at the stock photos and not only are the sleeves cuffs a different color, they also show the hood without the faux fur trim while the one received doesn't detach that way. The entire hood on mine detaches versus just the trim. It's so odd but that's the exact item link that I ordered this coat off of, so there's definitely some inconsistencies apparently. And sorry I haven't tried the other coat on!

  39. So cute! I have 2 questions: I'm looking at the olive coat online and it looks like the knit sleeves are also olive, not black. Am I missing something? Also, I really like the long down puffer coat you suggested. Do you know if that also runs small?
    Thank you!
