These photos are from a week ago when we were showing Nick’s parents around town. We were blessed with a mild day, and took advantage by packing up some baskets of goodies for a fall picnic! Picnics are usually better in my head than in reality – there’s nothing like enjoying treats while swatting creepy crawlies and shooing away wild animals, or accidentally plopping your cute blanket down on duck poop. Having an actual elevated table and weather too cool for bugs to thrive in was key, and made all the difference for a scrumptious and peaceful picnic! If you live in the Boston area, I love that Castle island park has picnic tables galore and restrooms, which are always a plus while day-drinking.
This cardigan is oversized in fit so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I loved the slouchier, cocoon-style cut. The cable knit is not as thick as I was hoping for unfortunately, but is still a cozy layering piece. I think petite ladies can definitely pull off the oversized cardigan look if you balance it out with slim bottoms and a tucked-in top. Please note the sleeves on this were pretty long on me, so I have them rolled up. They’re having one of those buy one, get one at a discount promos, so perhaps go in on an order with a friend! And use code 1789 for an additional discount through this Sunday.
I mentioned these Sole Society Mira booties a while ago as a suggestion for low, walkable booties. There are zippers on both sides however note the outer one is decorative only, while the inner one is functional. These were true to size for me and didn’t need any breaking-in.
I got a few questions on this picnic basket – it’s actually a “pie basket” but I just like using the pie shelf as an extra tier inside, or as a “serving platform” of sorts like shown below. It makes a great housewarming gift, too! We got it maybe two years ago and have surprisingly used it quite a bit, toting food to friends’ houses, out to our deck, etc.
These Topshop Jamie jeans have been one of my most-worn pairs lately! As a reminder, they run at least one size small, and the “30 length” fit my shorter legs well with regular shoes (needs a cuff with booties). Topshop’s high waist was higher than what I was used to initially, but I got accustomed to it after a few wears, plus it’s been good for balancing out longer outer layers like this one.

Love the outfits and obsessed with the booties!! Quick question though- what color did you grab them in? I'm having trouble because they all look so bright on the website
Very pretty ensemble!
Love the outfit but just curious where the shirt underneath the cardigan is from? It's super cute 🙂

I am too loving the Topshop Jamie and own 3 pairs now. I am a Topshop 25w all day long and the 30L perfect with a little cuff with ankle boots. Living in the UK there are many petite retailers, but the sizing varies so much. My tan Next boots are very similar to yours and so comfortable. Great blog and love your style
