I wore this pink on pink look recently in NYC, and inadvertently coordinated with our hotel’s vibrant lobby. My outfit is from Kate Spade New York’s fall collection, which is full of color as well as the classic black & whites (which this bow-back dress is also available in) in feminine silhouettes. My bag from the Cedar Street collection is made of crosshatched leather, similar what most of us know as saffiano leather. I’m a big fan of this type of material as it’s super low maintenance and wipes clean simply with a damp paper towel or cloth. This particular “Harmony” style converts from a crossbody for hands-free wear, to a cute mini tote that you can either carry by hand or loop over your wrists. It comes in numerous colors but the rose jade with (14k) gold accents combo is my favorite.
For reference, I am 5 feet tall and here’s where the cross-body hits on me. The strap itself with chain is removable but not adjustable in length. I like my cross-body bags to hit higher at the hips, so my trusty handyman Nick subsequently helped remove and re-attach a few chain links on each side (a cobbler should be able to do this professionally on most bags). An alternative, easy shortcut is to “knot” the chain link on each side of the strap, which some of you might’ve seen in my snapchats.
The inside of this bag is lined in dotted fabric with two organizational pockets (one with a zipper). It’s rather spacious compared to my usual cross-body bags and can fit sunglasses with case, phone, wallet and makeup bag with room to spare. The bottom has small metal feet for protection.
I also wanted to mention I’m wearing this dress in size 00 regular, which is fitted on me with no alterations. Kate Spade doesn’t have a petites line, but if you keep an eye out for proportions (like the shorter, higher cut torso of this dress), some of their pieces can be rather petite-friendly. The material here is medium to heavier weight with good shape and is fully lined with side pockets. The back detail adds a splash of surprise with elasticized (also helps with fit) bows that happen to keep bra straps concealed.

Thank you Kate Spade New York for partnering on this post! Here’s a few pieces I’m loving from their Fall collection, including other convertible bags that also come in this “rose jade” color. PS – their site has everyday free shipping & returns for US shoppers.
When you purchase through the links on this blog, I may earn a commission. Thank you for your support!
Thanks for the tip on shortening the chain on the cross body strap. I have a bag that needs the exact same thing done but I hadn't thought through it. 🙂
So elegant!
Hi there – wow, interesting point! I just looked closely and think the pleats might've gotten lost in the lighting or photo editing. It is the same dress and it definitely has pleats which I love. If you click on the white color on the website the pleats are clearly visible.
Hi there – our photog has various packages as well as an hourly rate for extra time, please contact her if you're interested! (Le Secret D' Audrey).
thank you! I listed it right under the first photo…love the Clinique chubby stick collection.
Hi Tricia! As mentioned in the post, I'm wearing a 00 regular with no alterations at all : )
Hello – I list sizes in my post, it's a 00 regular : )
Hi Clarissa, a good cobbler should definitely be able to shorten solid leather straps!
Hi Susan – nope, no skirt shaper underneath…the material is good weight which holds its shape!
Hi there – I asked and it's just basic small pliers with a tapered tip. He has a portable kit of a variety of them for various wire bending needs.
Stunning dress!

Hi Jean! I love the colors and coordination. I was wondering if the dress on Kate's website is the same? It looks like the front of your dress has two pleats coming out from the darts. Did you get it altered? I definitely like your version better as it provides a good silhouette. The way its shown on Kate's website makes the dress look so flat and plain.
Wonderful dress and the last photo… 🙂
Hi Jean, I loved your engagement photos in France. Might you be able to tell me how much they ended up being? Thanks!
Stunning. I love your lipstick. Can you share what kind of lipstick you are wearing?
What size dress did you get? Did you have to have many alterations done to it?
Hi, could you tell us what size the dress is? It looks lovely on you!
AMAZING location!

Hi Jean! Any tips on how to shorten crossbody bag straps that are entirely leather and do not have any metal chain? Thanks in advance!
You look so sweet in this pink on pink look! And the background really matched your outfit perfectly!

I love this color!
I recognized the couch and flooring immediately. The Gansevoort is our home away from home in NYC, too! It has such a lovely and intimate lobby and I love how your dress looks with it.
Timeless and beautiful! I work at KS and this is one of my favorites!
The back of that dress is to die for–so Kate Spade! It looks gorgeous on you!

Thanks for yet another beautiful post! Your look is truly timeless, feminine and elegant. The dress is very flattering (the back was a surprise, it gives a lovely and sexy contrast to otherwise classic garment!) and I also loved your hair & make-up! (Lipstick color – swoon!) Needless to say, the sofa was a perfect statement backdrop for the photoshoot. 🙂

Hi there! Do you know what specific tools Nick used to adjust the chain on your bag? I've been wanting to do that on a couple of bags I own as I don't have a reliable cobbler close by. Look forward to hearing about Nick's handy work 🙂
I love this outfit! The mix of the pink shades is super cute.
