Just a quick post today from Cape Cod – the hydrangeas there are so charming this time of year! I wanted to share this adorable petite-friendly skirt that I packed for the weekend. It’s just like my navy one that I DIY’d but is stretchy and of good weight. Either color is very easy to pair with tops, and as a bonus it fit great off the rack!
This skirt is available at both Topshop and Nordstrom, both with free shipping & free returns! Topshop currently has more sizes in stock, down to a US 0 (in my experience, their sizing runs very small, about 2 sizes smaller than other US brands I shop at). I am wearing a US 2 here which is a comfortable fit and not too mini. For reference, my waist/hip measurements are 24/32 inches. The skirt also does come in petite sizing, but I think that would be too short for my liking.
This skirt is pull-on style with a thick elastic waistband concealed inside. The material itself feels like a stretchy twill and is fully lined, with the lining completely stitched to the outer so no worrying about the two layers coming apart. As with all white bottoms I recommend wearing skin-colored undies, but I was happy to be able to wear printed tops tucked in without much show-through. The size 2 I have, when lying flat and unstretched, measures about 12.5″ across the waist and 16.5″ across the hips. This is one of those pieces I’ll be sure to keep out of the machine dryer to avoid any shrinking.
Love this outfit! It's both comfortable and sexy, perfect for a nice summer walk.
Lovely photos 🙂
Just found your site, having seen it in People Style Watch. Love it! I can wear petite sizes, but my legs and arms are sometimes too long for them. You've put together some summer looks that I can riff on. Thanks for the inspiration!
Just gorgeous.

I love this outfit you pulled together (as always! So inspirational!) I especially loved how you paired it with Bauble Bar necklace. Did you pick antique gold or silver? I love both but I can't decide which one to go with, any suggestion would help! Thanks!
Beautiful photos, lovely outfit. You look great! 🙂
Love this outfit! Preppy, but somehow refreshing.

Hi Virginia! I don't use the bumpit anymore…after securing my hair into a ponytail, I've just been using my fingers to pull out hair at the front of my head so it looks more voluminous!
Hi there – I always find boyfriend style jeans to run bigger. Even at Gap, I fit the regular petite jeans but the boyfriend petite jeans are loose. So it depends on how you want these to fit…slouchy loose or more snug.
Hi there – I'm trying to find my box but misplaced it…I think they are the gradient brown but unfortunately can't be 100% sure! Sorry about that : / I think either are a great neutral, and I love the fit since you can adjust the nosepads.
Thank you! I got balayage which is like reverse highlights – they highlight from the roots upward versus from top down. I asked for a non-brassy medium to dark brown color on the highlights. I've been loving the balayage because it's so low maintenance…no retouches needed on the roots!
I really love the scalloped hem and this outfit is such a cute and refreshing summer look! Cape Cod is still on my list to visit while I'm living on the east coast! Love the flowers!

Hi Jean, I love your voluminous bun. Do you still use the velcro bump it under your crown?
Hi Jean, I am ordering the Guess denim shorts, a quick question: When you said "not atypical of the bf style" does it mean it runs smaller, comparing to Gap denim? Thanks!
Love the platforms!

Hi Jean,
I have a question for you. I noticed that you have 2 pairs of RayBan (one in brown and one in blue). The brown one, in some posts, when I clicked on the link, it's Solid Brown. The one in this post is Gradient Brown. Do you own both Solid and Gradient Brown? If you do, which one do you prefer? I'm looking into purchasing a Brown RayBan, but still undecided if I should Select Solid or Gradient. Thanks for your help 🙂 And you look beautiful as always.
The outfit goes really well with the hydrangea! Very cute colour combo!

Hi Jean! Your outfit, as always, looks so lovely and effortless. 🙂
I have a bit of an unrelated question – I have black, straight hair, typical of a Chinese girl. I recently noticed how you have a bit of brown of yours and it looks really nice and subtle – I was wondering how you requested it? Did you ask for brown highlights? Are they just at the ends of your hair or are they throughout?
Thank you so much!
I love your skirt!! You look beautiful!! Love those flowers!!
