LOFT petites full bloom romper (on sale + extra 50% off)

loft floral romper petite1

LOFT romper (on clearance! also comes in a maxi), Talbots sandals (current version)
Ann Taylor clutch (similar), Gap hat (similar for $15, runs small per reviews)

Here is yet another romper find that I’m in love with – it is super comfortable and cool in the summer heat, has pockets, plus the fit is adjustable. The print is happy and vibrant in-person, and the waist ties have little navy tassels. The best part is it’s on sale with an extra 50% off, and currently left in all sizes. I paid a little more and have no regrets given the times I’ve worn it already. I would’ve never tried this on based on the model photo where it looks ill-fitting, but you can actually use the string ties at the upper back to wear the halter as high or low as you’d like. I’m wearing my usual size xxs petite and am happy with the fit. I’m confused by the one review that says it’s big and sloppy in that size, and wonder if she just didn’t tie the strings enough!
loft floral romper petiteLOFT is currently also having a very good 50% off select newer arrivals (use code HEATWAVE), including this staple denim jacket with rave reviews (unfortunately, sale only applies to the regular sizing and not petite!). I also love the print on this longer leafy halter dress, which would pair nicely with a blazer for work or a denim jacket for weekends.
Rompers remind me of outfits past from when I was a toddler…except those came with convenient little snaps along the crotch for easy bathroom breaks! I’m genuinely curious if the same can be added to a romper like this, without the inside seams of the shorts losing their shape. Will have to get my tailor’s thoughts on that the next time I pay him a visit.loft floral romper petite2

Steve Madden heels (runs narrow)

This makes a quick & easy going out outfit – simply pair with strappy heels and a clutch.

You can also dress it down with a denim jacket or by knotting a chambray shirt:

Hi! 🙂 I'm not sure if you saw two of Jean's articles that she has on the right side of the page – "how to look older" and "building confidence in the workplace." I found both of those to be helpful in figuring out how to build a professional style.

Thank you for what you do.

I actually saw this romper online some time ago and wasn't sure about the fit.. seems a little baggy on the model, but you have sold on it now! I love the idea of pairing it with a chambray shirt or denim jacket… I was thinking, maybe even a navy blazer would make it perfect for a night out! Thanks for the inspiration. Lover your blog, Jean! 🙂

Hi there – I would suggest buying a few staple pieces in all season colors and spending the money upfront on making sure they are altered to fit right. This really won't break the bank if they are pieces you can rotate in all year round. I'm not sure what the dress code is at your office, but for example, ankle pants (I love Banana republic Sloan pants) and pencil skirts in grey and navy, drapey blouses (H&M;, LOFT has great ones, and when you wait for a 40 or 50% off sale they are very affordable), and you can mix and match a handful of pieces for all occasions. I'd check out Putting Me Together's blog as she has great ideas on remixing a few staple types of pieces over and over again.

The print on the jumpsuit is beautiful! I bought a pair of shoes at Dune which is similar to your Talbots. I love the look and the fact that they go with everything. The only negative is that the upper strap rubs a bit but it could be just me…

Hi! I just recently discovered your blog and I have to say I'm so glad that I did! I am a very very small person, perhaps extra extra petite and this is something I constantly struggle with every day (self-esteem issues). But I'm a staggering 4 feet 7 inches tall. Yes, I am fully grown woman and NOT diagnosed as a midget or anything else. Because of this, most of anything I wear at all have to be altered and I've honestly (feel like) scoured the internet for petite options that are not so incredibly expensive. I have also just begun my professional career and don’t have much in the way of extra income to spend on alterations and or pricier clothing. Therefore, basically I’m constantly stuck. I don’t have too many clothes, especially professional clothing. I was wondering if there’s any specific advice that you or anyone out there could give me. I will continue to follow your blog and again I’m so glad that you are sharing your experiences.

Sadly the petite sizes of the LOFT denim jacket is apparently not part of the promotion. I was having trouble with the discount code so I live chatted their agents, who informed me that I would not be able to purchase the petite size using the 50% off. They wouldn't budge even when I pointed out that the big red text that says "50% off!" still shows up when you click the petite sizes tab!

Hi Jean. Unfortunately the petite sizes in the jean jacket you linked to are not on sale. Only the regular sizes are on sale for 50% off with their HEATWAVE promotion code. I contacted Loft via Live Chat to find out why and the representative said the sales are often based on inventory level. I'm assuming this means there are more regular sized jackets available than petite. Anyway, she said she'd make an exception and honor the discount for me if I called customer service to assist me with the reference code she gave me in our Live Chat. Thought I'd mention this in case anyone is wondering why the discount code won't work for the petite sizes! It can't hurt to call customer service! 🙂
