Last weekend Nick and I enjoyed a mini trip to the Saratoga, NY race track with a few fellow Bostonians. It brought back fond memories, as I used to tag along with my dad there as a kid to watch the horses. My family was in the area again, and I was thrilled to spend some time with them back at this fun venue. My mom didn’t recognize us and strolled right by several times, before doing a double-take and exclaiming, “wah…you guys look like you’re from 1920!”
I’m not one to pass up an opportunity to dress up, and this scalloped piece from Camilyn Beth was perfect for the occasion. I first saw her designs via the lovely Blair and was drawn in by the dresses’ simple + sweet southern charm. Each piece is sewn in the US and I love that this style is fully lined with generously-sized pockets. I received a custom size in the dress so can’t speak to how the regular sizing fits. The back features gold snap buttons and has a slight dip, which my trusty DIY bra strap converter came in handy for! I retired a few old bras recently, and made sure to snip off the clasp part in case I needed a backup of this nifty accessory.
I love your fascinator! I clicked the "KHATU" link for more information, but no success. Where can I purchase?

I'm a big fan of your blog—I'm a small Asian Harvard student from southern California—and I just recently clicked on Nick's Instagram and realized that he went to the high school 10 minutes from mine. 🙂 Such a small world! Anyway, beautiful pictures!!
I live in Saratoga! Wish I knew you were coming to the city so I could have met you. Glad you enjoyed our beautiful city 🙂
Beautiful pictures and I really like your dress!
That sounds like such a fun class and idea for a bachelorette! Glad all worked out on your big day, bow tie struggles and all : )
Hi Lauren! It's from ASOS and is from earlier this year (now sold out).
Aww I wish I got to meet you! I didn't realize it was a tax holiday, so that was a pleasant surprise. Love that store : )
I think camel looks great in warm weather and taupe in cool…but if I could only have one I'd probably go for the camel. Good luck choosing!
Love your scallop white dress! I first fell in love with the trim on white when Julia from Gal Meets Glam wore something similar after her wedding reception for the dinner portion. It was from Kate Spade!

You two look so lovely. Your fascinator is gorge!
Hi Jean, I am debating between a camel versus a taupe color bag. Which one would you choose if you were to choose only one and not both? Thank you for your opinion Jean
I saw you and Nick in TJ Maxx/Home Goods today! I think you were furiture shopping, since it's tax free day today (and tomorrow). I was feeling kinda shy, so I didn't say hi, but I was so happy that I saw you! It just made my day! 🙂
I love the old fashioned dress paired with the modern shoe! It's a very lovely, timeless combination. The detail in the buttons on the dress is a nice touch as well. Beautiful!

Thank you for the reminder about your bra strap converter. I had read it before but had completely forgotten about it I have a maxi dress that I love but never wear because of the low back.
So gorgeously simple and elegant! I love how the little details and accessories ups it from just being a plain white dress.
Beautiful!!!

you look amazing and your husband is hot 🙂
Gorgeous venue and love the photoshoot with Nick!
First-time commenter primarily because the two of you are just stunning! I was treated to a fascinator-making class at Artikal Millinery in NYC for my bachelorette and have been obsessed ever since. Also, do hold Nick to lots of bow-tie practice (even though his first attempt looks great) – my husband didn't practice at all before our wedding; while we can laugh at the photos now, I am told it was quite the stressful time involving multiple iPhones and YouTube videos. Oops!
You're so beautiful! Love the dress. Nick looks great too.
lovely as always, jean! <3
