Just a quick post today as we’re running around giving house guests the grand New England tour. This of course involves plenty of lobster and strolling through Boston’s public garden. Most of the blooms are sadly gone, but there’s still pretty little patches of tulips to be found.
I’m not much of a button-up girl, but first noticed this blue striped shirt in long sleeve form last season. It sold out quickly both online and at my local stores, so I was happy to see a sleeveless version this season. The crisp fabric and banker stripes lend both a masculine and conservative feel (perfect for the office), but also works well casually with either distressed denim or a flirtier silhouette like this pleated skirt.
I picked this up for 40% off and thought the quality & fit are both great for the price. It’s one of the slimmest button-up fits I’ve tried (wearing 00 petite with no alterations) and the cotton fabric did stay wrinkle-free, true to its moniker. For anyone looking for summer hats, I found this last week at the Gap outlet for under $10! One of our nearby Home Depots just so happens to be next to a few outlet shops, so I’ve been taking advantage while Nick busies himself with exciting grout choices : )
Stripes + pleats at Boston Public Garden
Banana Republic non-iron shirt (40% off; other prints), Modcloth skirt (old), Gap outlet hat
Yoox Parentesi tote (old, their current styles), Ann Taylor sandals (old, similar w/thick heel)

Trying to find a sandal with a bit of heel for like forever…so hard with a size 5 🙁 .. enough complaining! You look gorgeous as always! Congratulations again!

Haha thank you! what can I say…I'm a creature of habit with tried and true pairings.
Yes : ) Thank you!!
Thank you so much : )
Thank you!!
Hi there! Thank you! I have to say my makeup routine has not really changed since my last video, except with the discovery of crayon eyeshadows like the Bobbi Brown caviar stick or MUFE aqua eye sticks. They make it so easy to get the shadow look with just one swipe and smudging. With my hairdresser I ask for long layers and for him to thin out the bottom with a razor.
Hi there! I'm trying to resist since all of my closet is currently packed up in boxes, but I ordered a second color Bobeau cardigan since I wear my other one so much : )
The hat fits me but I don't have a very small head…have you tried kids hat in that case? I know Gap also has a kids fedora that looks similar.
Nice ring, Jean 😉 Congrats again!
Your hair looks amazing! I know you had old videos of hair and face routines and I was wondering whether your routine has changed since? It would be great to get an update, including what you tell your hairdresser when you get a haircut. Thank you!
Gorgeous skirt and look at that rock!

Engaged??? Congratulations Jean! 🙂
The color combination is great (are we seeing a theme here?) and the stripes and pleats are elongating vertical lines.
Where'd you get the ring? 😉
Such a cute look! Loving your sandals!

The shirt and skirt are beautiful!
I think I probably prefer the sleeveless version to the original— and I definitely like your styling!

Jean! did you get anything from the nordstrom sale? tempted by all your sale picks!
Does the hat fit? I tried some banana republic hats in S/M and they were too big for me. I was wondering if they have petite sized hats?
Very nice pleated skirt !!
