(This is a scheduled post; I’ll try to answer any questions upon my return : )

Wanted – an elegant pair of leopard print pumps to jazz up my solid-colored work outfits. Requirements – approx 3.5″ heel, almond toe, good quality, some toe cleavage, thin heel, dark camel with true leopard brown & black spots, under $100, maaaybe $150….do you exist out there?
A year or two ago, I wouldn’t even consider something “flashy” like a leopard pump. And especially not for work! However, after eying my friend’s day after day through various seasons, I’m convinced that a leopard pump can be versatile and unexpectedly classy. Hers are also Ann Taylor perfect leopard pumps, but circa 2010. I didn’t jump on those because I didn’t love the print, but she rocks them.
During the last stackable Ann Taylor sale, I hemmed and hawed over this 2011 version. I like the luxe “pony hair” material, but in-person, the spots are not right for me. Instead of true leopard spots, these are reminiscent of cocoa pebbles up close, or black polka dots from afar. Small and close-together, with no brown in the mix at all.
Although the fit, quality, and material are all great and what I expect from Ann Taylor shoes, for $83 I’d rather wait for the perfect leopard pump. Maybe, just maybe…they’ll do a third version next year and it’ll be the winner. Here are other styles I considered, but for one reason or the other (price, crappy material, heel shape) none were perfect:
The second item I got were these Perfect Patent Pumps, scored for just $65 with this coupon (still going on right now!). I like patent shoes in general because you can wipe off dirt, scuffs and scratches more easily than regular leather. Having already hoarded three colors of the same style shoe (black leather, exotic taupe, and gray suede), I know I don’t need one more. Nevertheless, I’m holding on to these to ponder over the next 60 days.
Did you ever find the perfect pair of leopard pumps for yourself? You may have already seen the ones that are new on Ann Taylor – patent. And for me the kitten heel height is much more manageable so I ordered size 5 and 5.5 to compare. Though I wouldn't be surprised if there is a 40% off code around the corner, but seems the small sizes sell out quickly.
I have these heels, the leopard and black version and I have got to say they are so comfy and versatile too. Dressy, business casual, going out…so easy to pair it! Love the outfit! The shoes make it stand out so much.
Some other options can be found on Piperlime! They have a whole section dedication in the "Fall Shoes: Top Trends" section.

Amazing – thank you all so, so much for the recommendations. I looked at all of them and saw some potentials.
@Anonymous It depends on both the shirt and the skirt material. I usually try on skirts with a top tucked in, and don't buy any that are so thin that anything underneath shows through. You can also wear high-waisted underwear or spanx and tuck your shirt in, it will also help a little but not conceal it entirely if the skirt is still thin. Lastly, the shirt shouldn't be super thick or textured…usually silk or thin polyester tucks in best, and the hem/edges of the shirt should not be too thick.
@Vaidehi @bluevalentine Hmm, I tested the code and it still worked for me. You have to make sure it's full priced items only, and total has to be over $100.
@pbear Maybe order a difference size with the online sale price and exchange it for your 6 in-store?
I love leopard pumps. I love your blog too! Have a great weekend. Please check my blog for pics of my pumps.
Thanks,
Jo

Hi Jean,
The Ann Taylor 40% off WITH the 30% off a $100 purchase promo code is absolutely amazing! I made my first ever purchase with AT yesterday (I've never before because they are a bit pricey) and now I'm an instant fan. I am a fresh graduate and need some more sophisticated attire! I got the Amalia Double Buckle Leather Booties (I couldn't resist, they look so sophisticated and sexy, what do you think of them?) with two other blouses (Petite Overlapping Placket Long Sleeve Blouse & Charming Long Sleeve Blouse).
I've heard so much from you about AT's perfect pumps and have been wanting a pair ever since (for a good price) Unfortunately, (and that's a BIG unfortunately) they don't have my size 6 in a style I want right now! That's how popular they are! It's a pity I won't be able to get them. I saw them in the store and they were surprisingly flexible and well cushioned everywhere on the floor bed. The heel height is bearable for walking and along with everything else, it is just the most comfortable pump I've ever worn and stylish too! I'm so glad I stumbled upon it and wish I had sooner. I know you have a lot of AT shoes and I don't know if you'll be getting more in the future, but when another awesome stacking deal like this comes along, please share it with us, thank you! I would really love to get a pair at a decent price (I don't have a job quite yet). 🙂
Thank you! I love your blog and visit it almost everyday ever since I stumbled upon it. This is my first comment as well. Keep the posts coming!
