On a recent trip to visit my family in Seattle, I was only able to pack a few clothes for myself after stuffing my suitcase with kids stuff! I chose these 7/8 jogger pants (on sale + available in Petite) since I knew they’d get a of mileage – comfy for the flights, and versatile for both sightseeing and more physically active outings.
The soft, smooth fabric and cut of these don’t scream “gym pants” to me, so if your work dress code is smart casual I think these pants would work well on business trips with the drawstring waist tie tucked in. Below are my sizing notes, and a few ways I’ve worn them over recent weeks:
1. Airport Travel: trench coat, sneakers, cap
Fit info: I took XS Petite (smallest available) and find them to be true to that size. I would ideally take an xxs so these are loose at my waist, but tightening up the drawstring helps a bit. I’ve washed these inside-out many times and there’s been no shrinkage, though I have noticed a little pilling at the butt area that I’ve de-fuzzed using my sweater shaver.
Measurements: When lying flat with the drawstring not tightened, my XS Petite pair waistband measures 13.3″ across (stretches), with a 10″ rise and 23.5″ inseam that was perfect on my 5 foot tall frame. Per the size chart, XS regular has the same waist and a 3 inch longer inseam.
I also wanted to share an update about my Edited Pieces trench – sadly, due to unexpected circumstances it won’t be available for sale this year. I’m so sorry for disappointing those of you who’ve been looking forward to shopping it this Fall!
2. Smart Casual Work: loafers + a sweater
This easy pairing was inspired by one of the photos in the customer reviews. She wore it with a crossbody Lululemon bag for a cozy travel look.
3. Errands: crop trench + sneakers
4. Zoo day: flats, stripe top, sweater jacket
I wore my beat-around comfy Amazon sandals, but either my Adidas Sambas or New Balance 237s would’ve been cute here for more stylish sneaker pairings!
5. Work or Meetings: textured jacket + slingbacks
For my shoes, I recently found a new similar option though haven’t tried them yet myself. Nordstrom carries the lookalike shoe as well in several colors.
6. Hiking: sneakers, crop top + sweatshirt
7. Travel home: Outfit repeat
Repeated my first travel outfit, just with a black instead of white top. I also wanted to include a better photo below of how my Naghedi mini bag looks with the crossbody strap, since I don’t think I’ve ever actually shown it! The strap only comes with this size or smaller, I believe. This feature plus the ability of the bag to fold flat into a suitcase was nice for travel!
your styling is amazing – I can’t believe you make joggers look so trendy and chic. i just ordered myself a pair.
What black and white tops are you wearing with your travel outfit? I have a hard time finding layering tops.
So cute! How would you style the pants to an amusement park outing?
Do you have any ideas for hiding the drawstring? That detail makes the pants a little too casual for me.
Hi Allie, I tie it once and tuck the tails into the waistband!
Love this! Just ordered the pants! What strap did you pair with your black Polene bag in the Errands pic? Thanks!
Thank you Nanette! I used the strap from my Cafune bag! Polene does make a version of the bag with a leather strap, but mine happens to be the one with the gold chain strap. The chain felt a little dressy for these looks so I swapped in another strap.
No XS Petite in any color available!
Hi Barbara – it looks like some petite sizes sold out today! I will keep an eye for a restock and post to stories if I see it.
Yes, I’ve had these pants for a while and I love them too! So glad you agree that they could work for business casual because they’ve been my go-to for in-office days as well as on weekends. So comfy!
Happy to hear you find them as comfy & versatile as I do!
