I’ve been on the hunt all summer for a pair of longer tailored shorts, and have to say these are a home run!! I love that they have a polished look in the front with a zipper and button opening, plus the comfort of a stretch waistband in the back. The mid-thigh length is an elegant change from my shorter shorts, and the fabric is a comfy lightweight and fluid material that can be dressed up or down. I’m partnering with Nordstrom to share 2 ways to style these, plus a few other recent finds that will transition well into the next season.
1. Dressed Up // Tank + blazer + belt + sandals
For my everyday casual look, I’d pair these shorts simply with this classic ribbed tank (great basic! not too cropped) plus a waist belt and flat sandals or sneakers. But throw on a relaxed blazer and some sandals or heels, and the look is transformed into a chic look for dinner or a smart casual event. If you missed my review of this blazer last month, note that it’s definitely a longer length and many petite shoppers might prefer the shorter version. I kept the longer one because I found the length to be more versatile for the mostly smart casual outfits I wear lately, but the short version would be easier to pair for business casual looks.
2. Dressed Down // Button up shirt + flat sandals
My photos here don’t really capture the feminine French-chic details that set this button up shirt apart from the usual. There’s delicate ruffles along the collar, fabric covered buttons along the center and the sleeve cuffs, and a subtle stripe textured fabric.
It’s a light and airy blouse so the sleeves puff gently and don’t feel too voluminous, and the material is soft enough to casually knot in the front. I was convinced by the 5 star reviews to get both colors and can see each one getting a lot of wear!
Thank you to Nordstrom for partnering on this post.
Absolutely adorable, I love this look! <3
