Outfit c/o Ann Taylor // high-waist flare trousers 00p, quilted pumps (also in navy) sz 5, geo lace fluted sleeve blouse xxsp, stretch camisole in navy xxs

Happy Thursday ~ I’m partnering with Ann Taylor to show some new arrival styles for Fall! From fashion week I was happy to see bell sleeves are here to stay (at least through Spring), as I’m loving every variation of the style from gently fluted sleeves to more dramatically draped ones. The resurgence of those along with flared bottoms are reminders of how cyclical fashion is…I’m pretty sure I’ve seen renditions of both styles in my mom’s wardrobe from decades ago!

Both separates in this outfit are actually machine-washable (do not machine dry) and can easily be mixed-and-matched for both work or weekend looks. I don’t go for trousers often because they’re a little more difficult to fit on me. One feature I look out for is a high-waisted cut, since that tends to run narrower across the waist. These flare trousers (also love the rich, dark tan color) are a new arrival from Ann Taylor and are some of the most flattering pants I own. The material feels nice and is of a sturdy weight, and the silhouette makes legs appear long and lean!

Like with most pants, there is still a small waist gap on me (not as evident in these photos due to a thicker shirt being tucked in) that I’ll have my tailor take in, however these are a notably closer fit on me than AT’s other trousers. These come with the classic pant details like angled front pockets, two back pockets, a reinforced waistband, and a front zipper, hook and button closure. They are not lined, but the fabric feels comfortable against the skin and doesn’t show underwear lines.

This blouse was a fun find from Ann Taylor as it looks a little more fashion-forward. See another photo of it on me worn tucked into a mini skirt! Please note the top is just a lace outer, so you’d need to wear something underneath like this navy camisole I have on. Up close, the blouse has nice detail to it like two different textures within the geo lace, and a thin navy piping in between the bells and the rest of the sleeves. For a more feminine and airy top also with flared sleeves, check out this pindot fluted blouse (see on me) that’s also on sale.

Measurements of pants in sz 00p: 12.75″ across waist, 17″ across hips, 9.5″ rise, 30″ inseam.
Measurements of top in sz xxsp: 13″ across shoulders, 21″ sleeve length, 22.5″ total length.

Leaving you guys with two other classic Fall pieces fully in stock and worthy of checking out during this sale: twill camel duster and Mila pointed pumps (true to size and good quality). If you’re looking for an elegant belted camel jacket, I saw this twill jacket in-person, and the 97% cotton / 3% spandex material felt nicer and thicker than what I expected for a “duster.” It’s not Northeast winter coat-weight, but should be warm for layering over blouses and sweaters in the Fall. Thank you to Ann Taylor for partnering on this post!

Love the outfit! Would love to order it, but the Ann Taylor website doesn't show a 00P size for these trousers. Was anyone able to get the trousers in this size?

I found them easy to walk in with no breaking in needed! The height is ~ mid so not too tall. They are a pointed toe silhouette though, which I know some ladies with wider feet may have fit issues with.

These are smaller flares so I don't have any trouble with them in everyday movement except when washing my hands at a sink or cooking (they can tend to 'sweep' the counter). I usually change before cooking anyways, and for washing hands I just tuck the bell sleeves into the wrist opening before using a restroom.

Hi Jean! Thank you for the reminder about this Ann Taylor sale! Your outfit is so cute; I'm not a bell sleeve type of person so the top is not for me but the detailing is still great.

I also purchased the Quilted Pumps! I just got them in the mail in size 5 and 5.5 and although 5 was too tight and 5.5 was a little large overall when I opened the box they did not SPARK JOY for me and therefore they are going back. My motto is KonMari Philosophy so I truly need to love an item to keep it. They still are a classic style and the 2 colors-navy and blush pink-can be great staples in a wardrobe.

    Have a great weekend!

I keep seeing these bell sleeves everywhere and I have to wonder how functional they are. Can you easily sit at a computer and type all day? Is it hard to keep them clean? I'm worried they would get in the way of everyday movement. Would love to hear what it's like to live a day in this type of blouse.
