I popped into Bloomies recently and was surprised by the number of petite-friendly items from their in-house “Aqua” line. They’re currently having 25% off most items (excludes brands like Ferragamo, Burberry, and Tory Burch) with code FRIENDS, and free shipping on orders over $150. I thought this floral dress was slightly similar to a painted poppies one that I have & love from Anthro. There were only a few size Mediums left and I couldn’t believe that it fit like this (I’m not pinning anything back)! I’m definitely curious how my usual size XS would fit on someone similar in size. I thought it might’ve been mis-tagged but all the Ms on the rack looked like this. The material was slightly scuba like and the silhouette had a nice, gentle flare without poofing too much.
Next up, this crossover stripe dress is darling for warmer weather with a nice ridged texture, but I definitely was not wearing the right undergarments for trying this on. I had on a lackluster sports bra, and this cut would be much more flattering with a little more oomph in the chest. An XS fit me fairly well, as shown:
Here’s a few more Aqua brand dresses that come in vibrant colors which are part of the sale. If you like neoprene material, this flare dress comes in 7 colors, looks “shrunken fit” and high-waisted on the model (aka a good fit on petites) and the reviews says it runs pretty small.
For anyone shopping for a getaway, Kate Spade’s first swimwear collection is so. friggen. cute. I had splurged on a bow bikini before my last vacation, but alas it was a return for me as it’s better suited for someone a little more busty. The XS top was not as snug as I’d like and I couldn’t fill out the underwire cups – perhaps best for bra sizes 34A/B and up.
There’s also tons of designer denim included in the sale (such as the exact Rag & Bone jeans I have and the well-fitting CoH ankle skinnies I reviewed), with several options in size 24 and a few obscure 23’s. And thank you very much to a reader, Vivian, who alerted me that my new MK “Sutton” tote is also part of the sale (see the medium size on me), with even more colors to choose from than at Macy’s or Nordstrom! If you ordered any of the above items from Nordstrom yesterday at a lesser discount, I would give their online live chat customer service a try to price match. As long as the same exact item in the same color/size is in stock on a competitor’s website, they’re typically happy to make the adjustment.
**Update: Thank you to reader Diana for letting me know that Nordstrom is actually automatically price matching on their site for the Medium Sutton bag, even though it doesn’t specify the 25% off! It gets added to cart for $246 versus the $328 retail.**
