Summer work wear: floral + dots

Ann Taylor Factory skirt (old, altered), Sunday in Brooklyn cardigan (sold at Anthro)
Sole Society Jenn heels c/o (7 colors, starts in sz 4+), Parentesi tote (old)

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! We’ve been busy hosting a steady stream of visitors, touring lighthouses along the coast and treating ourselves at quaint ice cream parlors. Any favorite recommendations for either would be appreciated : )

Summertime is officially here and I’ve been loving fresh white with pops of color for the office. I mixed embossed flowers with dots here for texture, and finished with coral suede shoes. These pumps are in my new favorite d’orsay cut with a low, walkable 2.5″ heel. They come in several colors plus a cute tartan print. And good news for small-footed ladies sick of being limited to kids shoes – Sole Society just started offering down to size 4!

Material of most SS shoes either come in genuine suede or man-made patent. The suede here is of medium weight and feels good quality for the price points. With this Jenn style, I took my regular sz 5 here and found them to fit true to size (didn’t feel half size big like the site indicates) and comfy off the bat. I personally like toe cleavage with pumps, so do prefer shoes a little lower cut. floral and dotI wouldn’t typically go pattern crazy for work, but the basic black + white palette here helped tone down the whimsy. My current group errs on the casual side of business casual, so I’d swap the flower power out for a summery tweed jacket or fringe cardigan at formal offices.floral and dot4Thank you to Sole Society for sponsoring this post. See my picks, including more styles in sz 4+:

Aw thank you! I just used a colored base and added a clear polish that has gold flecks. the base is Maybelline "green with envy" (more like a seafoam / mint which I really love), and the clear polish with gold was from TJ Maxx/Marshalls by the checkout line, where they always have trinkets and stuff. I've seen similar glitter polishes at the drugstore.

Thank you! It's Maybelline green with envy from their color show line, which I love because they're under $3 a pop usually with lots of bright shades. I added clear glitter polish which I found at Marshalls/TJ Maxx but you can find several similar ones at the drugstore.

Hi A! Thank you! It's MAC lipstick in charismatic – it's a deeper terra cotta-ish color which I find easier to wear than bright red : )

Hi there – I'm not sure why it does that! I had linked to these loafer flats:
    http://www.solesociety.com/harla-black-ecru.html

as well as the studded Anneke again: http://www.solesociety.com/anneke-new-black.html

I have not tried the flats, but as mentioned in the post the Anneke run narrower so I would personally go half a size up.

Hi, the Julianne Hough heels fit really well. I'm between a 5.5-6 in most sizes and was elated to know that the heels fit smaller but not too snug on my wide feet. I strongly suggest that you give these heels a try 🙂

Thanks for the review of SS shoes. I've seen some of their shoes at Nordies (or perhaps the ones designed by Julianne Hough) and was curious about how they fit.

I just purchased one of their shoes and it went on sale and I was able to receive the difference in credit so that was nice. I like their shoes and agree that their materials are pretty fair.
