Just popping in during a busy work month to say a quick hello! Some of my oldest coats (this one’s from 2009) have been seeing more wear than ever this year, since they happen to be my thickest ones. I’m also rarely in a knit hat, but couldn’t resist after Nick left behind his favorite one on a cold day. I figured if I have to share our tiny closet, I might as well make use of what I can (like here!).
Beanies are warm and cozy for this weather we’ve been having, but I’ve stayed away in the past due to frightfully static hair that’s only worsened by fuzzy knits. To combat this problem, I used to keep dryer sheets in my bag (works, but may leave questionable white specks on dark hair) but now carry a travel-sized bottle of leave-in conditioner. My hairdresser gifted me this “It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Spray” after witnessing my lion mane on an especially dry day. I disregard the spray hose, and just open the bottle to smooth a tiny bit on with my fingers. It’s been working post-hats or post-turtleneck sweaters like a charm.

Hello – I own several winter wool coats (including the one shown here) but do not own any down-filled ones if that's what you're referring to. I've lived in the northeast most of my life and wool coats have served me well. I don't find down-filled coats to be warmer or more comfortable, but it's personal preference!

Love this look, especially the coat! I do the dryer sheets for staticky skirts, but I never thought to do it on hair (which is also a big problem for me too during wintertime!). Don't know what I would do without leave-in conditioner in the winter!

Hi Ashley – finding leather gloves that fit short fingers feels like impossible! These are about half an inch long on most fingers. A reader once provided a tip to stuff them with half cottonballs…which is interesting since I've always thought about altering items down to fit vs. stuffing to just make the extra space appear less obvious. Maybe give that a try? Other than that, nothing wrong with the stretchy knit gloves!
The taller and the more fitted the boot (and the thicker your liner socks), the more that becomes a problem, unfortunately. Some women size up half a size for their rainboots which may prevent that problem. I was stuck…really stuck… once in these boots after using the thick fleece liner socks, so now just wear very thin tall socks to facilitate slipping in & out!

Hi Jaqueline! Thank you! I got size 5.5. They felt slightly loose at first but I inserted ball of foot pads which filled the gap. I usually wear 5 to 5.5. and go with the bigger size for pointy-toed shoes to avoid any toe pinching.

My hairstylist also recommended "Its a 10", but after looking at the ingredients, it has lots of bad stuff (parabens, etc.) so I guess I will deal with the frizz!!

You need to do another color theory video, like you did with the styling of the red skirt. This outfit shows how to pick up on similar tones, related colors etc without being too "matchy matchy". I still struggle with the tonal aspect, thought finally get the related colors.

Yaaay, another cute outfit with low heeled shoes! I have a question about the boots. My friend (who is always very well dressed…almost as well as you but not quite :P) had the same boots in green and she looked absolutely adorable in them. Trouble was, she always struggled to get them off. I felt like I was backstage at a fashion show and seeing something that was not meant for my eyes…do you have any tips or tricks for getting them off easily? Or do you not have that problem?
