Loving now: Around the world watch

map_watch

U.O. Around the World watch (HOTDAZE for 15% off $50+; everyday free ship & returns on $50+)
Gap kids dress (fit pic; took in 1″ on each side), Coach court bag (review, current version), thrifted pearls

Happy Friday! Just a quick update today to share an accessory I can’t get enough of lately. This watch was a surprise from Nick (to match my favorite skirt, he jests), and I guessed it was a lucky ebay’d or vintage find. Once I realized it was widely available and very affordable (under $30 with coupon), I couldn’t wait to share.

The 1.25″ face diameter of this doesn’t overwhelm narrower wrists, and the strap adjusts from a circumference of 6.5″ up to 8.5″ (you can always punch extra holes at home, but I didn’t need to). Strap is genuine leather and the case backing is stainless steel. Made in China. The quality is fair given the price, and I expect the watch to look better after “aging” with some love and wear. I already picked up an extra for a map-loving friend!

There are a couple similar map watches on Asos! Although I've considered buying them, I wasn't completely sold on the appearance of the "map", and I remember them being fake leather. I particularly like your map print skirt and wish I could find a pattern like that to create my own clothing!

I have this exact bag. My mom bought it back in college and gave it to me a few months ago. It looks just like the new styles!

Great blog, I always enjoy reading your posts and tips. Love the cute dress, ever consider trying Banana Republic's striped ponte knit v-neck dress? In comes in black or red stripe colors. Curious as to your comment on that one!
    Cheers!

I think the fact that Nick wants to match the theme of your skirt with the gift makes it extra special!

That watch is gorgeous! Love how different it is in the sea of rose gold Michael Kors watches (and I'm one of those owners, too).

    Just a note–
The watch wristband, as with many products from UO and stores like it, is not COMPLETELY genuine leather. The underside strip is, but the top (aka the most important part as it's visible…) is a plasticy covering. You might find that it starts peeling around the holes with the wear, so I'd recommend being careful with it, especially when putting on/taking off; I have a belt of similar material that did the same thing.

I bought this watch a few months ago but then returned it to stay under budget. Now I have a gift card so I may have to order it again because I loved it so much the first time. Thank you for the reminder – I kind of want it to see it with the skirt just for fun ๐Ÿ™‚

What a great find! I've been on the hunt for a new watch. I've been considering Kate Spade metro, Daniel Wellington both the leather and striped straps, and Timex striped straps. I just might have to add this to the list.
