On me: Dolce Vita dress borrowed from Lilliana (taken in & hemmed), bulky old BR bag to schlep DSLR
On her: Maje cape blouse (from Europe), $20 jeans from Philly store on Chestnut St, L.A.M.B. sandals
We are the same size exactly (imagine my giddy raiding of her suitcase), yet Lilliana's extensive wardrobe consists of almost no "typical petite faves" Ann Taylor, LOFT, H&M. This was so refreshing to me, and proves that size should not be a reason to conform and buy the same wardrobe. Although she gets many items altered like myself, she sees potential in various regular-sized items that I would never even consider.
Knit maxi: TJ Maxx, Leather jacket: Madewell (sleeves shortened), Bag: Balenciaga
Lilliana describes her style as feminine, chic yet classic, and aspirational. She loves mixing bargain finds with investment pieces, and pays a lot of attention to silhouettes and fabric drape. See her reel for more outfit snippets featuring clothes that have never even been on my petite-friendly radar.
Can't wait to share my Spain photos on here. Stay tuned, and I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.

OMG how cool you guys are the same size. I LOOOOVE her cape blouse, so gorgeous! Well looks like I found more reading material ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're having fun!
You girls look beautiful! Can't wait for the pictures from your trip!
ReplyDeleteJean, your hair looks so beautifully volumized here. Can you share styling tips? :)
ReplyDeleteOMG she is so cute! If she ever starts a personal style blog, PLEASE tell us because I'd follow in a heartbeat. I can tell that I love her style already, even with just 2 pics.
ReplyDeleteJust watched her video. You're wearing her dress from the Met Gala!! You both look amazing in it.
Wow, that white dress looks amazing on you!
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, I do feel that the blogs get a little boring since everybody does seem to shop at the same places (Loft, Ann Taylor, H&M, etc.) So a little variety wouldn't hurt. =)
You know what's funny? I just saw her in an episode of "How Do I Look?" and was amazed at how fabulous she looked at 5'0" tall! I looked her up and realized she was heading to Barcelona too! I just KNEW you two would chat fashion...hehe.
ReplyDeleteOooh, so exciting! I love that she's in Philly-- I'm a Philadelphian, too, and would love some local petite shopping tips! You guys look adorable. Hope you're having a blast!
ReplyDeleteHow amazing to find a fashionable person just as petite and exact same size! You girls almost look like twins when I first glanced at the top picture! I also petition for Lilliana to have her own style blog :)

oh my god!! i am in love with her blouse! it is sooo different and pretty! I also LOVE your dress!!
ReplyDeleteYou both look amazing!!!! We do not have access to all your petite fav labels here in UK so have to be a little more resourceful! But I'd like to know how to wear 4" heels please without breaking my ankles just standing up? lol! Is it just practise?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait your photos!
How awesome...that dress is gorgeous on you!
ReplyDeleteHi, I just happen to be in Barcelona right now, are there any events that your readers can attend? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteyou look adorable!
ReplyDeleteOh wow how cool was that to meet her! She definitely has to do a style blog.
ReplyDeleteSuch great style! I love it! I'm checking out her blog right now, I've always gravitated more towards personal style blogs, but that doesn't mean I can't start a new blog obsession! She is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBellĂsimas las dos ^.^ I love reading Liliana's Cheap Chicas blog. I can't wait to see more pictures of you in Barcelona. Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteI always find it amazing that some petite women (especially people your size, Jean) never buy petite sizes. Some aren't even aware they exist! I realize that most "typical" petite brands are very work-oriented and perhaps boring (maybe it's time for that to change), but it isn't to say that you can't make them interesting!
ReplyDeleteoh my... loving the outfit, especially yours with the pop of color! It really brighten up your smile for some odd reason. hehe.
ReplyDeleteY'all look gorgeous as always! Have a great time in Barcelona & can't wait to hear more about your experience!
ReplyDeleteI love Lilliana's blog and watching her on the Nate Berkus show haha! I've always admired her style as well- she manages to make everything work for her and I never even knew she was so petite!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see more of your pictures from Spain. And might I add how jealous I am that you're there?!
Have a great day Jean!

Awesome! I would love for her to start a personal blog too!! You both look beautiful in that picture by the way ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's always so nice to find a kindred fashion spirit, especially one who shares the same size as you. Enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing you in less conservative business-casual clothing!

I hope you can convince her to start!
ReplyDeleteomgosh petite buddies!!!
ReplyDeletelovin' the style, can't wait for more Spain post :)
She is super cute! I love her style. I completely agree with your sentiment - I'm starting to get tired of hearing the "excuse" that everyone in this petite blogging niche have the same clothing items (and therefore, similar outfits) because they're limited by certain brands. It's all about unique personal style! Looking forward to hearing more about your Barcelona trip!
ReplyDeleteI am IN LOVE with your dress, Jean!
ReplyDeleteLol I get all giddy too when I meet another woman that's my size haha...especially when there is closet swapping to be had =3
You ladies look so lovely!! You look stunning in that dress! Thanks for introducing us to Lilliana's site!
ReplyDeleteExcited to hear more about your trip!! :)
She is gorgeous! She has a cute Sarah Michelle Gellar look! From watching her reel, she could give giuliana of E News a run for her money!
ReplyDeleteBTW I like that BR bag. It pops in the photo! I can't wait to hear more about your trip.
Yeah! I would love a departure from the regular haunts of the petite blogging world!! Everybody looks the same.
ReplyDeleteI have never been a fan of LOFT, Ann Taylor, H&M - own very few items because I actually think they are way too expensive for the quality.
