Mango 30% off Sale (+ Teen Coat review)

I haven’t shopped at Mango in so long, but popped into a store recently and was surprised by how much I was drawn to! They’re running 30% off orders $200+ now through October 2nd, so I wanted to share a few quick reviews. You can also see my video try-ons here of each piece which show the fit better.

I also finally got the chance to try Mango Teen, which I had been very intrigued by! Scroll to the bottom of this blog post for my thoughts.

Mango Coats & Jacket Try Ons

Women’s sizes in-store start only at XS, but XXS is available online. Keep that in mind since I’m trying on XS below because that’s all I could find in-store, but an XXS online would be a better fit.

Trying on: Mango wool coat xs (xxs is online; 3 colors) + Mango bag, Everlane tee xs, Zella leggings xxs, Chanel flats 35.5 (similar luxe flats)
  • Their double-faced wool coat is a signature style that comes back year after year in black, cream, and camel. As an example of how tastes and preferences change, I tried it on in previous years and thought it was way too big. Now that I’m very much into longer lengths and more oversized styles, I surprisingly liked how this coat hung on me. It’s medium weight, unlined, and drapes well with a classic cut and slightly dropped shoulders. This is the XS with sleeves cuffed up, and I think the XXS would suit my current style well.

Mango tweed jacket xs (starts in xxs online)
  • V Neck tweed jacket (on sale): This is one of the most petite-friendly pretty little jackets I’ve come across, especially considering that this is an XS and not even my usual size Please ignore the leggings here (I had on my long Oak + Fort trench coat thrown over everything)…I usually wear my tweed jackets dressed down casually with jeans, or with trousers and skirts. I could almost get away with the XS in this style, so imagine a size XXS to be a fairly shrunken, slim fit.

Mango tweed jacket xs (starts in xxs online)
  • Tweed jacket with pockets (4 colors): red, camel, ivory, black and a similar salt & pepper fringe tweed version right up my alley. This felt slightly bigger and longer on me than the V Neck jacket above, but should still be a good fit in one size down, my usual size XXS. All of these tweed jackets are lined and on the thinner side, not heavy in weight.
  • Short black jacket with pockets (see on me): I have an old Zara kids black cropped jacket that I absolutely adore and wear often with jeans, skirts and trousers. This has the same shorter, boxier cut and elevated smooth crepe fabric. XS was a little big on me with wider cut sleeves, and comes in XXS online. I also found a very similar kids version online (I’m usually la 12 kids) that might fit better on smaller framed petites, but I haven’t tried this one myself!

A QUICK review of Mango Teen

I’ve mostly sworn off shopping in the kids department, but was hoping Mango Teen would be a gem with less childish styles and petite-friendly sizing. I chose their longest plaid coat to try on since I love midi/maxi lengths, but they have several other similar, shorter Teen coats!

Sizing: Fairly easy to understand thanks to the detailed size chart, which I highly recommend looking at before ordering. Teen sizing is 1 size off from women’s, so their Teen XXS = women’s XXXS, Teen XS = womens XXS, and so on. Sizes go up to XL Teen!

mango teen for petites coat review
Trying on Mango houndstooth coat sz teen xxs (too small for me), Levi’s jeans 24×27, Madewell belt xxs, Everlane tee xs (I size up), Marc Fisher heels 5.5

My coat order: I unfortunately didn’t read the size chart before ordering and ordered a Teen XXS which was too small for me (I’m currently about 5 feet tall, 96-98lb depending on the day). I’m usually a Women’s XXS so should’ve ordered a Teen XS per the chart, if only I had paid more attention!

The coat looked nice for a kids item, and was very reasonably priced after the 30% off my order. The houndstooth colors are pretty in-person (black, grey, navy, beige) and the jacket is fully lined. The Teen XXS was too slim for me throughout the torso and the sleeves were a little shorter than I’d like. I’m guessing one size up might be ideal on someone my size with room to layer a sweater!
