*Also see this cardigan blazer styled here and here for everyday outfit ideas!*
This past weekend, our good friends visited from Texas seeking a quintessential New England Fall experience, so we packed the toddlers in the car and headed north to our favorite farm for apple picking, hay rides, pumpkins, and all the roasted corn and cider donuts our bellies could handle! Nori had a blast watching the baby goats and trying (unsuccessfully) to figure out how to eat a whole apple.
As a comfy, practical outfit for a day running around in the mud after Nori, I paired my boots with a plaid skirt (also styled here) and my trusty sweater jacket (also styled here and here). For more styling ideas with these red Hunter boots, see my previous outfit posts here, here and here.
Hi Jean, I purchased this J. Crew sweater blazer and I love it! Sadly, it’s already pilling. Do you have any “best methods” for pill removal?
What a fun day at the orchard! You and Nori look so adorable. I have red rain boots and I love them too.
Nori is growing up so fast and so beautiful!
Such a cute fall outfit! That sweater fits you like a glove!

The apples look so delicious and fresh. The child is so cute too.
Those boots are the cutest and I love all of the colors they come in! I think the red is the best, though. And there are so many neutrals that red looks wonderful with. I love that you and the little one are wearing the same boots – she’s just precious! You look gorgeous in that outfit!

Hello Jean. I live in Paris and England with Virginia (Phillipine/French).
I love fashion and your blog/photos.
Thank you!
Love those sunglasses. Do you have a link?
Sorry they are an older purchase! “lively” by Theirry Lasry
Hi Jean,
Your style is so amazing! So classy and beautiful always. And Nori is the cutest!
Hi Jean! Are the boots in this post the same colour (military red) as in your previous posts? They seem to be a darker red.
Hi Kathy, I only have one pair of red Hunter boots so they’re the same color as my older posts but the lighting in each shoot may be a little different! Unfortunately I can’t find my receipt from when I got my boots many years ago, so i’m not sure of the color name of the red that I have.
Mystery solved! I just read this line in Jean’s older Tartan scarf + red Hunter tour boots post: “Out of the two red Tour options now mine are the “military” red.” https://www.extrapetite.com/2015/11/tartan-scarf-red-hunter-tour-boots.html
Ah thanks Beth!! Good sleuthing ; )
Thank you Danielle for your sweet message! xx
Hi Jean! Who makes your sunglasses?
Here to ask the same thing!
HI guys – they are an older purchase, “lively” style by Thierry Lasry that I got on SHopbop!
Oh my god those matching boots, I am dying 🙂
Sounds like you had such an amazing weekend! I am thoroughly enjoying the fall weather as well 🙂
Great outfit!
