Pumpkin Patch // Mock neck sweater + Leopard Scarf

leopard scarf casual fall outfit ideas

Earlier this month while in upstate New York, we visited Ellms Farm with my family for some pumpkin picking and Fall treats! I had only been there for Christmas trees in December and thought the selection was pretty impressive, but their pumpkin patches were on a whole other level! Nori had a diaper incident shortly after arrived so we walked all the way back to the car to change her comfortably … only to later on notice a mini cabin onsite dedicated to baby changing stations and rocking chairs for feeding! I thought that was so impressive for any venue, and especially a farm!

This leopard scarf (under $20!) was one of my most-complimented, affordable buys from last year. It looks great with cozy sweaters, edgier moto jackets, and even fitted dresses as just a pop of pattern. I’m so glad to see it back, but it keeps going in and out of stock online so be sure to pick one up while it’s available!

These ankle boots are also an older popular style that has been brought back in recent years. I used to borrow these from my cousin, and gave them a permanent home after she moved away to warmer lands. See them also styled on me here with a skirt. I also love the look of these similar block-heeled booties from Steve Madden available at Nordstrom!

For fall, I had tried on a bunch of sweaters from Nordstrom and found two very soft, mock-neck styles to be the keepers (the one shown in this post + the orange one previously blogged here)! Both have been worn on rotation, differences being the orange one is thinner, while this one has a more plush texture and wider ribs. The exact colors I got in each are low in stock, but grey is still available in both and is a versatile choice! This mock neck striped pullover (described as “supersoft”) also caught my eye for easy athleisure outfits, and I like the slouchy look of this funnel-neck tunic sweater.

Topshop makes some of my favorite high-waisted jeans, but they run quite small at the waist so it’s been a while since I’ve squeezed into a pair! For fit reference, I used to wear size 24 in most denim brands pre-pregnancy and always used to size up to 25 in Topshop. Post-pregnancy, I usually wear a 25 now in most denim brands and sized up to a 26 in these jeans (and they are quite fitted). The “28” length is perfect for petite ladies and actually end above my ankles for a cropped length (I cuffed them slightly here to hit above my ankle booties). This Joni style is more like a legging jean, with a very slim and streamlined fit and pockets in the back only.

I am so jealous….I used to make a great pumpkin pie and or pumpkin bread, but alas I don’t have a car anymore and cheese pumpkins are not available in Brooklyn or Flushing, Queens.

Just love the combinations, but everytime I go to order from the sites the color of whatever you are wearing is always sold out in small sizes.
    So sad

Really cute easy to pull together outfit. I have never heard “it” referred to as a “diaper incident” lol , that’s a journalistic way of putting it!

Hi Jean! Love your outfit as always!
Any tips on how to keep black jeans from fading, especially the seams?
