Christmas tartan + sequined skirt // J.Crew Factory flash sale

office holiday party work outfit sequin skirt

AT cashmere (current version), J.Crew Factory plaid in xxsp (free ship w/GETGIFTING)

Here’s a little snippet of office holiday party outfits to come…I picked up this plaid popover shirt a few weeks ago and absolutely love the festive tartan and the petite-friendly fit. Last year’s version sold out quickly so I jumped on it early this season. J.Crew Factory is having a flash sale with free shipping – I picked up a few of the items below for an early gift exchange and couldn’t resist a set of flannel PJs for myself! After machine washing and drying so many times, my set in xxs regular from years ago have started to fit more like petite.

I’ve also tried on a few other Factory pieces recently which were a surprisingly good fit. Even in regular sizing, the elasticized waist wool-blend skirts in 00 reg which they have year after year fit me well. The sultry metallic striped dress below (another festive holiday party option) was a snug fit in 00p, and the puffer down coat was perfect for me throughout in xxsp. The coat for under $100 is an amazing value for down-filled outerwear that fits a petite frame without alterations.

I ended up buying the J.Crew regular Wintress puffer coat instead because I loved the features more, however that one is notably pricier and has a few fit issues like the sleeves being a tad short and the torso feeling snugger. I’ll do a detailed review of that one soon, but wanted to share about the Factory sale while all sizes were still in stock!

Curious how you style the plaid elastic waist skirt. What type of shirt would you wear….tucked in or out? Thanks!

I wish there was a reason to wear glitter skirts more often 🙂

I love the sequin skirt! And paired with the casual flannel and sweater, it definitely elevates the outfit. What a perfect holiday work party outfit. I must recreate one! I'm checking out J.Crew right now.

I like the metallic striped dress. FYI – Sole Society's Lacie weekender travel bag, now $49.95 – ends Sunday!

How does JCrew's sizing run? I'm looking to get a vest and the tartan plaid shirt seen above, but I'm not sure how they will fit. Any suggestions? I'm 5,2', petite, athletic build but curvy. My frame is small, but I'm a 32DD so I have a hard time finding tops that are petite with enough give for my bust.

Amazing styling, I love the little bit of plaid peeking through to make the look more festive but still office appropriate.

Jean I LOVE all your styling and hooked on your site. I've already purchased a few things and look forward to more. It appears we're same height (you may be 1" taller) and same shoe size!

Just saw that you got the jcrew puffer coat. While it's cute, and I love jcrew stuff, I wanted to recommend another down coat, about the same length that I think you may enjoy better. It's from Athleta, and is called the chill down jacket. It's 800 down fill, hood is more stream lined, has pockets and no belt, but the waist can be cinched by an interior pull that's hidden. I have the version from last year and it is extremely petite friendly in an xs, so light weight and not bulky at all for all the warmth it offers. Plus the price is better and the company offers a great customer service policy!
